Have you ever had a 1 night WL that you were able to book online before MS?

If I had a multi-night WL. I understand that I might be able to find separate nights on my own as they became available one night at a time. However, what if it's a 1 night WL? Will MS's system always find it, and pull it out before it becomes available for someone to book online? Should I trust MS to book it for me, or should I be checking on my own multiple times a day?

I recently found a night at HHI available before my wait list found it.

I am pretty sure I have grabbed single nights before and not had the waitlist fill to my knowledge (although when I dropped the waitlist the day may have fallen to another member's waitlist which would make me feel that it had never filled). I can't think of a specific example, however I can think of a similar example--just a week ago or so I had a waitlist set for 2 days at GFV and one of the days had been available for quite some time, but I really needed both days before I was willing to give up a portion of the reservation I already had to make it a split stay. I woke up early to find that the two days were available for booking and booked them but when I cancelled my waitlist it never showed either day available again, so I am assuming the waitlist never caught them.

I’ve had about 50% of my WL come in On their own. But usually I find the nights I want by stalking the website. Just keep checking throughout the day

I have been checking about twice a day, but I was thinking that whatever system MS uses, they would be filling a single night's WL when it showed up. Guess I'll be looking much more often now. Thank you!

I just completed a week long waitlist one day at a time by stalking, starting at 8 am

Yes, but then when I cancelled the waitlist and went and checked it was available again. So in that instance at least 2 rooms had cancellations and the waitlist reserved one for me and the other was available.
