Have you ever gone to Orlando and NOT done Disney??

*GASP* That would just be....WRONG!

All kidding aside, I wouldn't dream of going to Orlando and not visiting the House of Mouse. We enjoyed US and SW, but our hearts belong to Mickey! In my mind, they don't even compare.

HOWEVER, be adivised that I am a suffering from severe Disney withdrawal. (It has only been since May.... believe me, I know I'm nuts... if I ever forget... my dear Mother reminds me :D ).

In the last 10 or so years, I have left Disney property four times (outside of traveling to and from the airport).

1st: My mother in-law got sick, and I took her to a doctor.
2nd: We went to Busch Gardens.
3rd: I missed my turn, and accidentally ended up off property.
4th: Last Super Bowl, my wife made me drive to the mall to get a New England Patriots shirt....YEAH PATS!!! We watched the game at The Poly.

Go to central Florida, and not do Disney....not for me, but each to their own!

A few years ago we went during the summer and we has just been to WDW in April, so since we only had a week and the 4 park flex tickets we wanted to get our money out of them. We used them all week for US/IOA, SW and Wet N Wild. Missed Disney but we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

We just returned from a 9-night stay in Orlando and did not go to Disney at all. We went to Universal & Islands of Adventure, Seaworld (new baby shamu born), Dicovery Cove, Busch Gardens, Kennedy Space Center and Gatorland as daughter loves alligators for some reason.
Kids didn't miss Disney at all. We went 3 years ago and did just Disney. This time we did other Orlando attractions.
My kids do not like doing the same thing. They would rather go to a different place each time.

Last Feb I spent four hours in the Orlando airport on the way to Key West on a business trip. It was tough to get off the plane and not go to Disney! I was tempted to rent a car, drive down to WDW, get out, jump up and down, and drive back again. But I didn't.

Fortunately my return flight went through Tampa.

YEp, we just got back from a 14 day stay and didn't do Disney.

We did the five park flex ticket and we did Busch Gardens, Wetn Wild, Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure and Seaworld.

My kids 7 and 4 never ever mentioned Disney at all, and never once asked about it. They had too much fun!

The flex ticket was amazing, it was affordable (like $800 for 2 adults , 2 children) and it was for 14 days.

I didn't regret it in the least.

We also can go to Orlando without going to Disney. We've been to Disney so many times and they haven't added any new attractions (maybe one or two) that my kids say their Disneyed out. Last year at the MK they said do we have to stay here, can't we go back to Vistana (mykids were 9 and 5 at the time.

We did Sea World for the first time (for them) and they just loved it. We have one more day on our pass for Disney that we will use next year. Then we want to try Discovery Cove and US/IOA.

Will have no problem going to Orlando without doing Disney.
