Have you ever gone to Disney without your kids?

DH and I were passholders before we ever had kids and we still enjoy adult-only time in the parks when his parents take the kids for us. Disney is for everyone!

My first trip sans kid will be in January. I'm sure I will be sad but I'm looking forward to going with a group of friends and running in the marathon weekend 10k

Our story is a little different because our FIRST trip to WDW for both DH and I was our honeymoon...we had a blast being there without kids but we didn't have kids to miss or feel guilty for not bringing. We have been 2x since then (once with 2yo while pregnant and 5 years ago with 3yo & 6yo and another family with 3 kids). We are going in Feb. with the kids again and another family but last time as we were walking around Epcot, DH said, "We've got to come here without kids again!" We would love to but we don't go frequently enough to justify a trip without them at this point. I think my ideal would be flying down with DH for a couple of days and then having kids fly down with Grandma or something. Also on last trip we had adjoining rooms with our friends and each couple got a date night while the other couple hauled all 5 kids around the parks. We are planning to try the same thing in Feb with the friends we are going with. WDW can be really romantic when you don't have kids along for the ride!

Going to second the majority of the posts here. Do it. I'm a firm believer that every marriage needs "mommy & daddy" time. And, you're a huge hero when you bring home something from Disney! I went with my best friend once and brought back only 1 bought souveneir. They were just as thrilled with the Disney napkins (displayed on their tack boards) and Disney merchandise bags (I bought at 2 different stores to get 2) as they were with their toys.

I was just talking about this with a friend yesterday lol. I said I wanted to go without my kids for one trip but I would feel so guilty. She said I was nuts to want to go without kids. Anyways we are going with the kids in January 2014 and hopefully I can convince my parents to come in 2015 so that I can have some time without kids while we are there. That's the best compromise I can do lol. Have fun without your kids. :)

My kids are all grown and only one is still at home but we never took a vacation without the kids. Did without the hubby LOL!! But my philosophy was that I only had them and could spend that kind of time with them for so long.

Now, I don't foresee us vacationing all together for a very long time. They are all busy with their lives. I miss all the fun we had together.
