Have you ever done an album of 8x10s?

We have so many 8x10s of our kids and family. DH sets the digital camera at the biggest size possible and edits the pictures later so we can get an excellent quality print in 8x10 or 4x6 or whatever we want. We just love the bigger size but there are too many to put on display, although I am considering using one wall of our staircase for just that.

We have several formal ones of the kids including school pictures and holiday ones. And then there are the fun ones, including, of course, wdw. We have one of each of the two older kids at the main street barbershop and the barbers and the barbershop quartet are in them horsing around! And the main street family photos.

I was thinking of two albums, a formal one and a fun one. What do you think? Have you done it? How did your album turn out?

We do have one book of just the formal school/photographer pics- Its nice- simple but nice and its a good overview of how fast they all grow

I use a CM 12 x 15 album to put my formal pictures in. I don't "scrap" them. Just put them in with photo corners in chronological order, then I can easily change out the ones I have hanging on the wall, but still have the right place in the album that the pics belong. I actually just did this within the last few months, but am really glad that I did because all my formal pics were just stuck in a drawer.

I think I'd go with one formal album and one fun album.

I LOVE scrapping 8x10 photos. I am currently doing a 12x12 album all in 8x10s. Most of them were either digital photos I took and then had printed in 8x10, or they were photos I already had that I took the Kodak PictureMaker to get made into 8x10. In fact, I just did a layout today of my Miniature Schnauzer. He just got back from the groomer and looked so adorable.

I cannot wait to go to Disney just so I can make my 8x10 pictures into an album. I'm addicted to the larger sized photos.

I wish I could have the time to learn to stitch my 12x12 layouts so I can show them to you. lol.

Stitching is really easy. If I can do it, anyone can!!!

As far as the post, about 8 x 10's I like to use them on one side of my layouts and then use the other page with smaller pics and I';m also about to journal on the other page.

for my photo studio shots.

I did just find some shots of dd 1 that I can enlarge & put in there.

Do you think it would be "wierd" to have professional shots along side fun photos of things we did/do?

Not 8x10 but 5x7. Love this size. I use a 12x12 album and love the look of the larger size photo's.

Thanks for all of the replies.

I think I am going to do the two albums in the larger size. I might put a few embellishments or some words or titles around them.

I like the idea of doing formal and fun together too. Maybe I'll do one of those for each of the kids. Sigh. I think I'm already in over my head. :D

I just ordered a few formal 5x7s of my daughter. I figured I had way too many 8x10s, which is what got me started thinking about the albums.

I've been out of scrapbooking for a long time. I'm getting back into it as I'm finding a lot of old photos and DH is taking so many new ones with the new baby and the kids activities.

What is stitching?

I do special albums for my 2 grandsons, using 81/2 x 11 albums and 5x7 pictures. Only my very favorite, best shots go in here. Not formal photos, but the ones that really show how georgous they are, or the ones that really express their personalities. So very easy to embellish, since the photos take up most of the page. They are now 7 and 10 years old, and this album takes them from infant up to the present. I also do much more comprehensive family albums.
