Have you ever bothered being at any of the Disney parks at Rope-Drop?

We wake up early every once in awhile
its nice to sit in front of the castle, have a pastry and watch the park come alive…

Yes, all the time. Several of our trips have been over the holidays so we like to be at the parks at rope drop. We can still do everything we want at a relaxed pace.

we ALWAYS go to the parks at rope drop. especially MK and DHS. i would feel like i was missing something awesome if i slept in at wdw, lol.

We have done it quite often. I am surprised no one has mentioned the opening at AK. I think MK and AK have the best openings.

Our very first trip to WDW we even did the "Dumbo Dash" .

Absolutely! We go in summer, so it is almost a must. You can't roll in later in the day and expect to walk onto rides or even get FPs for some rides, like TSM. I enjoy the show and the low crowds. WDW is a fun vacation but not a sit back and relax type of one for us!

We've done lots of rope drops. It's huge fun and you get right on the best rides without a wait OR having to get a fastpass.

Not only do we show up for rope drop, but we close the parks every night. We can sleep at home!

You know, I love all that morning stuff at MK, The horse drawn trolly down Main Street, hearing the Dapper Dans sing, watching that little show those singers do on the Trolly singing, "I'm walking right down the middle of Main Street USA..."
I just love it. :)

I just love WDW!!

I have never been to any park before 11 a.m. :rotfl: I get up about 9 but take my sweet time getting ready. My bf watches Sportscenter on ESPN, reads the paper, or sits out on the balcony people watching. We usually get to the park about 11:30-12:00, eat lunch, and then hit the park about 1ish. We go at such a slow time and I'm not a fan of riding the same ride 10 times that we find we get just about everything ridden that we wanted to ride by 7-8 p.m. (even with stopping to eat dinner) then we have time to stroll around, enjoy a snack on a bench, watch the fireworks, ride one of our favorites again, etc.

When the parks are open until midnight - 2 a.m. we'll get there about noon, eat lunch, ride a few things, leave about 3 to take a nap back at the resort or swim in the pool, take a shower and change, go somewhere for dinner about 6-7 p.m., then head to the park with EMH. I love vacationing this way. I actually feel like I get a relaxing, fun vacation more so than I did when I was a kid and my parents were getting my brother and I up at the crack of dawn (although even then we never made it for rope drop) and we were out until they kicked us out of the park. Last November I saw an older couple laying in the chairs on the beach at WL. They had a stack of books/papers and the husband would go every once in awhile to get them mixed drinks/glasses of wine from the pool bar. After talking to them they both said this is how they enjoy spending their day and then they go to the parks at night. I put that on my "to do" list for next trip ;).

I have only ever been at a park at rope drop once, and I didn't even experience it, because I was inside the park eating breakfast.

We've been at a park extremely close to opening a couple times other than the above mentioned time.

We sleep in on vacation, take our time eating breakfast, then watch the news or web surf, and then maybe even go swimming before hitting the parks. We are not commandos. The goal is not to get to a park and ride everything within it as many times as we can (although, I understand why many do). We are happy riding a few rides and maybe catching a show. We are always able to accomplish this by the time we get there, and that is with or without EMHs.

We always try to be there for rope drop! Our last trip, we got picked for Family of the Day at the Studios while waiting. It was SOOOO awesome, until I found out that DH picked TOT as our "ride." He was soooo close to being suddenly single that day!!! I had successfully avoided TOT for many years... and then... ahhhhhhH!!!!! :headache:

Not normally a ropedropper. We like to sleep in but this last trip we did make rope drop at MK and I think from now on we will try to make rope drop at least one morning of every trip. It was lots of fun! :cool1:
