Have you ever been offered money for a 5 star review with Amazon?

After I bought some dog ear wipes recently I got a letter, in the mail weirdly enough because they usually come via email, saying I could choose from multiple things, including free paper towels strangely and free products from the company if I gave a good review on Amazon.

Several times a note with an offer of additional products or Amazon credit has been included in the package in exchange for a documented 5 star review. I tend to only read the 3 star reviews these days.

This happens to me if I provide a one-star review of the item. I usually just edit my review to say that they offered me money for a five-star review.

I have been offered money and free products in exchange for 5 star reviews multiple times. When I get the request I give them a one star and note their attempted to pay for my for my review in hopes it helps someone else.

Possibly.

I really don't like it when people bug me after a purchase. I know I've received a number of emails from products I've bought on Amazon stating something about the seller wanting my feedback. I ignore them. I do post reviews though, but only when I feel it's warranted and not from any selling prompting.

Nope, never offered $$$ for a good review. Sometimes I get 'reminder' emails to rate something I have purchased on various sites and just send them to the trash. If some product already has 25+ good reviews, I don't really see the value in adding yet another one to it. Occasionally, I will rate something if the product didn't work well or was flimsy and think others should know about it before deciding to purchase. Any of the ones reminding me to give it top rating never get any feedback from me.

I'll give it a few days and award them with a zero for awful business practices, good idea.

Really, its a pet brush set and it seems literally almost impossible to screw it up, such a strange thing to be underhanded over. Their behavior is so sus though so now I'm going to scrutinize the stupid thing to see if there is something weird wrong with it:dogdance:
