Have you ever been busted for sneaking food into the movies?

I always bring in candy and drinks for my kids. I buy a soda and popcorn there.

A little off topic.There is a place in Mt Pocono Pa that has a movie, mini golf and ice cream palor and REst. Well they do a Dinner adn Movie each week for $10. adn they serve it to you right at your seats.

I used to bring in candy when I was a kid. Mom would take us to the store right before heading over to the movies and let us pick out any kind of candy we wanted.

Now, as an adult, I don't really snack during movies. I usually have some suckers or gum, but I am not looking for snacks.

I remember once a family of 4 brought a styrofoam cooler into the movies - we were seeing Honey I Shrunk the Kids - and they had filled it with tuna sandwiches. What a rotten smell that was.

I also remember one time my sister and I were home from college and we went to the matinee and brought in Chickfila and cans of Coke. There were only a few other people there, but one of them must have smelled our food and turned around to see who was eating the yummy-smelling viddles. We couldn't help but bust out laughing. Good times.

I would have done what I could to get them thrown out. I can not to be in the same room with tuna sandwiches. And since it is such a strong smell, I'm sure there are many others that feel the same way and that family was completely thoughtless.

I agree I would have done something to get the family thrown out. I'm ok with the smell of tuna but I know others who aren't ok with it. The family was thoughtless to do something like that.

I used to work for one of the major theater chain's corporate office, so I was all too famililar with the policies (ie not 'supposed' to bring outside food and drink into the theater). Most of the box office monies go to the movies showing, and most of the revenue is from concesssion sales.

BUT...we actually talked amongst ourselves (the department I worked in)...and not a single one of us hadn't snuck candy in before . We even got to see movies for free (being employees)...yet we were all too frugal to pay for the overpriced popcorn.

I have my 'big purse' for sneaking in a candy bar and one soda can. If DH or DS go with me, I pull out the 'big gun' purse that will hold a ton, lol.

My friends and I always sneak food in. The largest grocery store in our town is right across the road so we'll buy our tickets and walk across the parking lot and buy candy etc. I have a purse that can hold anything. I had a Giant can of Monster, a bag of gummy worms, 2 packages of the Nips Carmel things, 3 candy bars, and something else (can't remember) in my bag. We have never gotten caught. Now the drive in is a different story. My friends were idiots and had a big ziploc baggie of chex mix out. the security guard just said "you could at least wait till it gets dark to take that out". I don't feel too bad about our carry ins to the drive in because we always buy food from the concessions too. (we're teens we're never not hungry)

The Casino. I hate it but it's a cheap movie when I want to go out with friends. They also have an arcade.

We have walked into our theater before with Taco Bueno cups, no one ever says a word. We usually take candy for our kids though.

Taco Bell taco's are pretty flat if you stack them in a purse. You can easily fit 8 of them without looking odd. But you WILL SMELL odd. Its when the kids want those cinnamon twisty things that the purse gets messy.

We bring stuff in with us from time to time. The theaters here don't seem to mind. People bring in big bags of fast food in plain sight and no one ever says anything.

One of my friends used to go to our local theater with meatball sandwiches. I was sure we were going to get tossed from all the smell...never did though.

When one of the Star Trek movies came out, I went with two friends (one male, one female) to see it. They snuck in cans of beer. I don't drink beer, so I was in the clear on this one. They waited until it got dark, and took out the beer. They carefully positioned their fingers, ready to pull the tabs. Just as they pulled, and you heard that "psssst" sound, the movie went dead silent. The ONLY sound heard throughout that theatre was the sound of two beers being popped open. Anyone within smelling distance of those two had no doubt what they were up to. I LMAO.

My MIL is has mobility issues and uses a scooter. She has the handicapped parking tag and clearly disabled. She puts food in the basket of her scooter and doesn't even try to hide it. Only once was she stopped and she got loud and argumentative (because she is loud and argumentative in general, haha) about how she has dietary restrictions and how could they serve such trash, did the guy know what was IN that popcorn? On and ON it went, how they were harassing a disabled old woman who couldn't even WALK and how she can't have so much fat because of her heart, not to mention the trans fats... They just waved her on by to get her to shut up.

These two guys would bring in fast food every week and eat it when the teacher's back was turned, and the smell made me nauseated. Several times I had to leave the room to throw up. I'd asked them to stop bringing in food, or eat it outside before class, but they were obnoxious 18 year olds and didn't really care. I threw up in the waste basket one night, not able to make it to the bathroom, and they didn't bring in food again. Apparently hurling in FRONT of them was key to making them understand that really, the smell of french fries and the pregnant me just do not mix.

Why couldn't you just sit at the other side of the room? French fries don't really smell much And chances are, they were probably obnoxious, but some people have a valid excuse for eating in class, and most of my professors in college didn't care if we ate, as long as it was quiet. I took a calculus class in the evening, but I would be at work before that. And before work, I was in class all day. I literally would have no time to eat from lunch if I couldn't eat in the calc class. I had a lunch break around 12:30, but then I would have lab from 1-5, have to be at work right after lab from 5-8, and be at the calc class from 8:10-10 pm. I couldn't eat at work cause I worked in the chem labs, food and chemicals really don't mix. So the professor was nice and let me bring food to class, otherwise, I don't think I would have made it.
