Have you ever added a day to your PH pass after you got to WDW?

We wanted to add one more day to our five-day PH pass and when I called CRO to ask how much it would be I was told we could add it when we checked in at the YC. When I asked how much it would be, I was told "a couple of dollars".

Hmmm.....

Kinda makes me wonder why she couldn't tell me that. I'd like to know how much a "couple of dollars" actually is.

A 5 day PH bought in advance is 249.21 I believe, and a 6 day PH bought at the gate is 257.73. So if you had to pay the price difference at the resort...it should only cost 8.52 per ticket...if I'm figuring that right!

We added a day to our hoppers and the total we paid for all 4 was about $10, so around $2.50 for each ticket.

Yes that is correct. We did this when we went in Nov. It was only a few $ more to add another day. I am surprised they didn't just do it for you over the phone, they did for us.

This is an interesting question. So if I have 5 days left on a hopper/MYW ticket I could add a day for $6 - $8 dollars? What would prevent me from continuing to add a day for the next 5 years? Could I do this several times. That would result in some pretty cheap admission for quite some time.

Looking at the base MYW ticket prices:

Days - Adult - Avg $ Per Day
1 - 63.00 - 63.00
2 - 125.00 - 62.50
3 - 181.00 - 60.33
4 - 195.00 - 48.75

6 - 202.00 - 33.67
7 - 204.00 - 29.14
8 - 206.00 - 25.75
9 - 208.00 - 23.11
10 - 210.00 - 21.00

The more days you buy, the less you pay per day. That's why you can add extra days for almost nothing.

An adult 1 day ticket is $63. You can get an additional day for $62 (a $1 savings).

An adult 5 day ticket is $199. You can get an additional day for $3 (a $60 savings compared to a 1 day ticket). This is your example, so for you, that "couple of dollars" is really $3 per ticket.

We had 8 day MYW tickets (with PH) and decided to add 2 additional days. For the 3 of us that was an addition $4 per ticket.

I paid $12 to get 2 days of WDW admission for 3 people! Well, $12 and some tax, but you get the point.

Adding one day to an expiring ticket is not the same as adding the non-expiry cost. After you "spend" two of those days you can not "reload" them onto the ticket. Your total on the ticket (including the days already spent) can not exceed 10. You can add features such as park hopping to nonexpiring tickets at a later date but you must pay the additional feature for the total amount of days (spent and unspent) on the ticket. I just did this last Fall. I upgraded an expiring 5 day ticket (with three spent days) to a 10 day non-expiring. I now have 7 days nonexpiring days left on that ticket. (This past January I added the "plus" feature.)

Before they can tell you how much an upgrade will cost you they have to examine the ticket. Among other things they figure out what Disney got for the ticket for example was the ticket one of thse sold in bulk at wholesale prices to outlets like Ticketmania who then sold the tickets to you? So you have to be down there to show them the ticket.

Also, it generally costs more to add features to a ticket used more than 14 days ago because a completely different se5t of forumulas (prorated dollar value) is used.

You can indeed add extra days to an expiring ticket as long as 1) you do it within the 14 day window and 2) the total number of park days does not exceed 10. Your cost will be very small as the more days you get, the lower the price gets. This is considered an upgrade by Disney.

Correct. With the MYW tickets, Disney does not consider adding the options (PH or WPF&M) as an upgrade. You can add these options to a non-expiring ticket after the 14 day window at the same flat rate ($40 for PH, $50 for WPF&M) that you would have paid had you added them in the first place.

OK, help me understand We are going to purchase 10 day park hoppers no expiration tickets. If we use 5 days of this ticket, we CAN add 5 days back to make it a 10 day park hopper no expiration again Can this only be done with tickets purchased through Disney or can it also be done with tickets purchased through Ticketmania as well I read about this a while back and asked about it and was told "no". I knew I wasn't crazy Please help me understand so I can have something else to be excited about

I purchased tickets for my parents and brother on Ticketmania back in January for our trip in February. They were all 4 day hoppers, no expiration. DB decided that he wanted to come into the parks 6 times with us (DFi and I), so I had to add days to his pass. The first time I added a day it was $25. The second time I added a day it was $13. All in all, not a bad deal.

No you can't. No ticket can exceed 10 days in total length at this time. That means that once you have put 10 days on a ticket, you cannot add any additional days to that ticket.
