We are traveling to the world in December. Our dd's will be almost 2 & 4 when we visit.
We had decided that we wanted to try MVMCP for the first time, but wondered how the kids would make out. We figured if we kept them on their regular bedtime schedule of 8:00 most nights, they could handle the one long night.
Now, there is a possibility that my mom may be coming along for the trip, and has offered to keep the girls a night or two for us, back at the condo if we wanted to spend some time alone...
So.... we are debating leaving my mom with the girls, and doing the MVMCP alone. Has anyone done this?
Some background info... Dh & I have taken the family to disney the last 2 years... DD #1 was 11 months old at her first visit, and then when we went last september,dd's were 2 1/2 & 7 months. Our oldest was horridly afraid of any / all characters that we encountered last year, and I"m not sure that has changed. She even had some issues watching the parades the first few days.
We have 2 other full days planned for Magic Kingdom, so the girls will have plenty of time there. And the day of the party, is planned as our "down time" day, to just hang out at the condo, go swimming if it's warm enough, play at the playground, etc...
I do feel a little guilty thinking of them missing out, but then I can picture a really fun / stress free night for dh & I. We haven't done any of the "mountains" at MK, since we have had the girls.
Imagine, walking around without the double stroller and diaper bags... sitting through a whole show / parade / fireworks without a crying baby, passing out snacks to keep them still... switching back and forth from our laps 10 times...
Please don't flame me!!! I'm just wondering if any one else has done this and been able to enjoy themselves, even though the little ones were missing out.
Thanks!
