Have you danced in a DLR Xmas parade?

My daughter's dance school is taking a group of students to DL to dance in the Christmas parade that will then be shown on tv on Christmas morning. We would love for her to participate, but it is rather costly. I am curious to know what your experiences were, if the park experience was enjoyable and if the filming is done before the park opens? My DD will be 8 and loves performing. Is it worth it? Any details would be appreciated!! :goodvibes

I do know filming is during park hours and they do it several times to get different angles. I'm pretty sure there was someone on here that participated last year. Just curious, do you happen to know when it'll be?

I would definitely do it! Its a once-in-a-lifetime experience! Well, maybe not once if she continues dance, lol, but I think its so special and fun! My friend's mom taught dance so they got to go a lot to perform there and she always had so much fun.

Hi! It will be December 11th. Looking forward to it!

haven't been in the parade but we were there when they were filming it last year. They film it during the park hours. Family of the dancers are asked to bring Christmas clothes and are put along the parade route to make it look like it is Christmas day. The filming takes a long time as they will start and stop and start and stop to get all the angles they need for the shots. It is fun to watch on Christmas morning and see if you are on TV though. That evening the dancers got to be in the Celebrate parade as a preshow and it was really fun to get to see them all. It looked like a fun experience but it seems like it will take up your day so rides might need to be done a different day if you want to experience that too.

Thanks everyone for the input! I just found out that we will be filmed but NOT for the Christmas Day show. That's ok....I just want my daughter to have the experience. They will have a workshop with Disney employees and then dance during the afternoon parade. I can't wait !!!!

I think that's awesome that your daughter gets an opportunity to do this! :thumbsup2

My middle daughter went to DLR in May when she was in middle school, for their band music in the park. It wasn't something that was filmed for TV, but still really cool to be able to perform there and we went every year :)
