credit report lately?

I did today for the first time. Don't ask me why. I was amazed at what's on there. One of them even had my first credit cards right after high school on there! So today I was calling places to officially "close" the accounts I no longer use. Geez! Once these hit and they appear closed, I'm sure I'll be getting a ton of credit card offers from other companies. LOL! That's exactly what happened the last time I closed an account.

It's a good thing to do. When I checked mine, there was some credit card my parents put my name on when I was a toddler. I think it was a Sears card. I nearly had a fit when I saw what the balance was, and that it was showing up in my name.

My husbands dad did the same thing to all his kids one by one. We now have horrible credit and nobody wants to clear the mistake and the only thing we can do is sue his father which he will not do and I wouldn't either.
