We are going to take our DD there for her 5th B-Day in October. She's been wanting to go there ever since she found out they have a Camp Snoopy there. She LOVES Snoopy and the Peanuts Gang movies. Plus I've always wanted to go too!! And I hear the shopping is tax free. WooHoo!!

What did you do while you where in Minneapolis? Where did you stay and would you stay there again?
Have you been to there museum? They are supposed to have the largest Stegosaurus on display there and our DD just loves dinosaurs too.

And any suggestions on making it a special B-Day while staying away from home in a hotel??

Thanks for any help and suggestions!!:)

Relatives on my Mom's side of the family live in MN. We were there a few months ago and the MOA was a blast! Lots of stuff to do and quite large. They have a rollercoaster, log ride, and a bunch of other stuff. It almost feels like a small Disney (or Knotts Berry Farm, for you CA people) inside.

There is lots of stuff to do there, most of which you mentioned in your post. All of it is fun to do. Just don't forget to pick up a sack of White Castle's while you are there. ;)

Two years ago my DD's best friend & her mom (my friend) took DD & I on a trip there to celebrate DD's friends's 11th b-day. We stayed at the Double Tree & it was in a great location and it was a beautiful hotel. The girls had a blast in Camp Snoopy!

We stayed at the Doubletree also. Very close to the Mall and they had a shuttle that would take you to the Mall. We spent 2 entire days at the Mall. DD was 8 at the time and she loved Camp Snoopy. We have been to Knott's Berry Farm in California and she loved the rides there too. They have a nice selection of rides at Camp Snoopy. What she really liked is that we ended up buying her a new outfit since she got soaked on the log ride.

Another cool thing you and your daughter will both enjoy is a huge aquarium (apparently the largest in the midwest?) It has all kinds of fish, and not too expensive. It's right near the Rainforest Cafe! (If I remember right:) )

Glad to hear Camp Snoopy is a big hit with the kids.

And White Castle's are all over the Chicagoland area where we live, so it's not as 'special' as to others who don't have them close by.
But still tasty none the less!!;) :D :) Now if you were talking about In N' Out on the west coast that would be another subject. I wish they would franchise here!!!

Bunchkin yiou will have a blast at the Mega Mall. Its quite easy to spend all day there. If you want I can check if there are coupons for the all day passes for camp Snoopy. But only clothes and food you buy in grocery stores are tax free. The museum you are thinking of is the Science Museum. Wonderful Place. Its located in St.Paul. Legoland is located in the Mall also. What days are you thinking of going? If you can go during the week it not as busy. If you want to go to the aquarium in the mall I might be able to get you coupons. I won't know if they are availible until the coupons books come out the first of Sep. If there is anything else you want to know pm me.

We usually stay at the Country Inn & Suites when we go up to the Mall. The aquarium is amazing it is split up into different areas salt water, lakes & streams, and fish found arounf the Minnesota area. You will have a great time.

The Science Center is awesome. My BIL volunteers doing experiments for the kids at the Science Center and in the schools, so maybe you will see him! The Mall is awesome, but you may be more underwhelmed than some people in that we have lots of very large malls here (Woodfield is larger than the Mall of America in terms of amount of retail space as I recall, but MOA has more stores and is set up much differently). There are lots of stores at MOA that I have never seen anywhere else. And Camp Snoopy is awesome!

Best day of the week to go to the MOA is on Tuesdays.

Go to www.mallofamerica.com for info on hotels in the area.

I have stayed at country inn and suites. Very nice and very close..

Also, homewood suites by hilton are nearby, amerisuites, fairfield inn is across the st.. MOst hotels in the area have a free shuttle to the Mall.

I wanna GO!!
it woudl give me the best reason on this Earth to shop! :p :p

I haven't been in a few years. If I had a long enough layover at MSP airport, I'd hop the bus to the mall. I did the aquarium there. It wasn't too bad. The place is soooooo huge though! I hardly made it through the entire thing.

You will have a GREAT time, and your DD will love camp Snoopy. I can HIGHLY reccommend the Science Museum of Minnesota. You should plan at least one whole day at each. I agree with Kejoda that Tuesday's are the least busy at MOA, and they have ride deals for kids on that day too. It used to be under a certain age rides free that day, but don't know if that is still in effect. Yesterday was the 10th anniversary of the MOA opening, and it was PACKED over there! The weekends just before school starts and just before Christmas are really crowded, but during the week it is wonderful!
