and then gone on to like another resort MORE? I'm having a really hard time branching out. Going back to AKL because of great rate and b/c I DO think it is fabulous. But can't wait to get back to GF this summer. On the other hand, I'd like to try another resort. I'm interested in WL, YC and BWI in particular.

Thanks for any opinions!

We have stayed at the GF 2x and are heading back this November. We are like you, we want to try all the deluxes, and since we have joined DVC it is easier for us.

Now when we travel to WDW we stay 3 nights at a deluxe then head over to the BCV for a week. This way we get to try all the resorts.:D

BTW... AKL is wonderful. I can see why it is a tough choice for you to make.

We have. We stayed at GF in Sugar Loaf for 9 days in 1/02 and then again for 10 days12/02. In between we had 2 stays at the Polynesian. Since then we've had another Polynesian only vacation and 2 split Polynesian/BCV vacations...another of those coming up in less than 3 weeks!:sunny: I also had a 2 night stay at AKL and one son and I spent one night at OKW. We had great stays at the GF but we still love the Polynesian even more. Certainly hope to get back to GF though especially during the holidays.

I'm a little confused though. Were you a diehard GF fan who now loves the AKL more?

We stayed there twice but it was a long time ago - Jan., 1992, and Jan., 1993. We absolutely loved it. We are coming to Disney World in June and are staying at the Swan for a number of reasons. From all that I have heard about the Swan, it sounds like it will be great. But we will visit the GF for Park Fare breakfast and Electric Water Parade. It holds a special place in our hearts:lovestruc.

Have stayed at GF 9x in the past 15 years - from 5 days to 31. The last 5 times at CL (which includes the 31 day stay). Since it was the flagship hotel, I thought it was the best. And compared to all other deluxe on-property hotels it is, with the one exception being the BWI. At BWI, ALL of the staff is exceptionally friendly, kind, happy, and helpful. I stayed there this Feb fopr 14 days at CL level and it is now my number 1 FAVORITE hotel experience! I thought it would be a lot noisier but I stayed in a garden suite, and was plesantly amazed at the peace and quiet! The GF personnel should take lessons on guest management from BWI, and GF CL should be taking mandatory service lessons from BWI CL - I found GF CL CMs to be rude and obstinate. Thanks you BWI - you have my business for life!

We've stayed at the GF 3 times and love it, but I waited too long to get reservations this year and by the time I called, GF was already booked - so we will be staying at YC this time. I am excited about being so close to EPCOT and I know the girls will love SAB, but I know I will miss being on the monorail as well as the ambience of GF. I have stayed at the BC and it was ok, but I still prefer GF.

I would love to stay at GF on our next trip, I have not started to research it yet though.

Do any of you have tips for a room with a view of the Castle? Or any other special hints that would make for a Magical location?

We will be traveling with 2 yr old Princess and a 5 yr old Princess.

We've stayed at the GF three times but still enjoy many of the other resorts. They all have their own special qualities. :)

I've stayed there twice, both in castle view rooms. It is not even on teh short list of favorite resorts. While the second stay was enjoyable, I wasn't left gushing.

I would much rather stay at the BWI, BWV, BC, BCV, Polynesian, or AKL.

We alternate our choices. Me, DW, and 2 DD's take turns choosing and have enjoyed most of the resorts over the years.

This has really worked for us! ::yes::

I have stayed at a few of the resorts more than once (GF, BWI, AKL, and Poly). I have found that each resort really has its own pros and cons, and they each seem to have something special to offer. For example, the convenience of the monorail is a major draw at the Poly and the GF, the food court at the AKL was very enjoyable, the room decor at the BWI is one of our favorites, the YC rooms were very nicely laid out, etc. I usually choose to split my stay so I can return to an old favorite and try something new or different for the rest of the trip. I also try to take location into account. We love to split our stays between a monorail resort and an Epcot area resort, so we do that when we can.

Wow! I sure got the answers I was looking for...And then some!:earsgirl:

BCV23. I do love AKL but I prefer GF. I stayed at AKL on the concierge level this Fall b/c I wanted to try it out after seeing the Great Hotels they did on it (AKL) and we were taking my parents so it was going to be a different type of trip... We loved it but DD and I still missed GF.

ANYWAY, for Spring Break, GF was sold out when i tried to make reservations and then we decided to invite our niece - who is an animal fanatic - so we went with AKL and just never looked back. I know it will be terrific but after this trip we don't plan to go back for a while. I do, however, highly recommend it!

I want to go again this summer and can't wait to get back to GF. On the other hand, i would love to try BWI or YC but I don't want to be disappointed. I was just fishing for some advice:earsgirl: And it sounds like I should go for it!! BWI Concierge sounds particularly fabulousprincess:

Now I understand...I was sort of rambling because I wasn't sure what you were looking for. We're planning on trying AKL concierge in the fall. Never have stayed at the BWI but concierge there does get a lot of raves. We love concierge at the Polynesian. Actually, we just love the Polynesian!:D

Since no one else has asked - you stayed at the GF for 31 days straight???

Can you comment any further on why or how you were able to stay there for 31 days? I think even most WDW junkies would be ready to leave before a full month went by.
