Hi, I have some tips you may find handy.
we love Cafe Mickey in the Disney Village fora character meal, they also do breakfasts as well. my DD loves it and we always visit this one.
In the actual park there is also a plaza tea party which is sweet stuff like cakes on which is on Main Street.
Lucky Nugget saloon which is a buffet, and also a buffet at Inventions at the DLH(a bit more expensive then the others however I have heard fantastic stuff about it)
Walt's does not do the character breakfast now..It has moved to plaza gardens however it is a lovely place to have a meal.
For non character meals Annette's diner is highly recommended, I would also recommend Rain forest cafe. both in the Disney Village.
The characters will also be in your hotel lobby each morning so its a good idea to get down early and take advantage of this as it can be quite a battle to get near the characters in the park.
A tip is though if you are walking from SL to the park then pop in to the HNY as it is a smaller hotel so less queues for the characters.
Also I read on the DLP board that you staying at SL, so you can book to have breakfast in the park.. It is free so it is worth doing as you will get in the park early and get a head start on the crowds for peter pan ,and Dumbo.
Also when you go WALK to the breakfast and DON'T get the train, this way you will beat the crowds to breakfast and can get done and dusted quicker.
If you want to book this breakfast then do it as early as possible as soon as you have booked your hotel. (you could book it for every day of your stay if you wish)
Not sure on what children you have, however for girls the princess in front of the castle every day from 10.30am-12.00pm. Its a good idea to get here early as queues are very long.
If the queues for characters such as mickey etc are long they take advantage of the fact that it is easy to pop of to the studios where the queues are shorter.
I hope this is some help and I have not gone on to much.
