It means after you meet your deductible.........if you have further expenses they will pay 80 percent, you will be responsible for the other 20 percent.

I keep hearing horror stories of people who get insurance, then get dropped when they try to use it for something major, because the insurance company finds something not disclosed on the application.

We buy our own insurance from Humana,they have been great. As long as you use a doctor or hospital that is in Network, which most are, they have a negotiated rate. When I get my bills it amazes me how much less the cost is for procedures with the negotiated rate. We have a $3,500 deduct. and the 80/20. In my state if you get sick they can't increase your premium just becuase of the illness.

I would get a minimal coverage plan for you and your hubby, and look at the Michigan plan for your children - here's their brochure:

I don't qualify for michild unless they take in all my expenses including mortgages and child care costs I have looked at Humana and they seem ok. What do you pay? I was looking at the same deductible. Was the quote close to what was quoted? Thanks guys
