Have non-expiring tickets and considering buying AP

Our family has some non-expiring tickets (the kind you can use whenever) that we purchased years ago (and should have bought more before they stopped selling them).

We have a couple trips planned and I want to buy APs. I don't want to use our non-expiring tickets but rather hold onto them for later.

My question can I link the APs to my MDE, and then NOT use the non-expiring tickets when we go to the parks. Or should I created a new MDE account where I could link the APs?

1. Yes.

2. You only need to add new "fake names/guests" to your current MDE account and transfer the tickets that you don't want to use to those names.
In the future, you can transfer those tickets back to your real names.

I had non-expiration tickets tied to our account. With my trip last month I purchased 4 day Florida resident tickets for us to use. What I did was go to Guest Services the night before to prioritize the tickets (we also had to show proof of our residency even though we have been in the system for years).

The next day when we entered the park we found one of the CMs that had an iPad and verified with her that the correct tickets were used.

(Thanks to all who provided this information on what to do regarding prioritizing tickets.)

If the tickets were used already then how would that work? I thought you can't assign your tickets to someone else.

Once a ticket is used, it can't be transferred.
(Your original question did not mention that you had used any of the days on your older tickets.)

In that case, have a CM, when you activate the APs at WDW, set the new AP's to the highest priority in your MDE account.

The highest priority tickets (your new APs) will be used at the gates first... until they are no longer valid.

Thank you both. I had searched but knew there was a key word I was missing. Prioritize!

This will work and was very helpful.
