Just wanted to let you all know that I think I matched up the "family-less" soldier with more than 25 DIS "moms". Isn't that awesome!!!!

I wrote to my son today, and told him to watch out for Mike and the windfall of mail that's about to reach him!

I wish I could just see the look on his face at that first mail call when he has boxes and boxes and boxes!!!!

Hi Patty,

That's wonderful!!! I just got done shopping for Bobby, my other adoptive male soldier and things for my Brownie Troop's female soldier. I got Bobby 2 boxes of Triscuits as well as tons of other snack foods. Is there anything else he would like? I bought cards, dice and a Yahzee game for my Care Packages. Would Bobby like any of these? I'm also going to buy crossword puzzle magazines tomorrow and ship them!!! I spent 2 hours shopping at Target today!! I've never had so much fun spending money!! Plus, my kids donated $20 of their saved allowance money to put towards the packages!! I'm a very proud mom today!!!

HOW PROUD you must be!!!! Please put a note in the box telling Bobby or whoever that your children did this. Knowing my son, it will bring tears to his eyes to hear that.

I know that Bobby has a deck of cards - I sent them in the first care package. The Yahtzee game sounds like something his group would probably enjoy!

Bobby is lucky enough to get lots of stuff from not only me, but some wonderful neighbors and co-workers, plus some DIS moms. Please send the majority of your items to your other soldiers....but for sure send Bobby the Triscuits!

My kids just saw Bobby's picture on your thread on they said "WOW - a real soldier"!! I will send him the triscuits and some other things!! The kids want me to download some pictures for them to color for Bobby to send with the package too. Patty, God Bless You and your family. You have done so many of us such a wonderful service by sharing Bobby's story and telling us how to adopt soldiers. I'm sure several if not most people people here have told their friends and families about OMP. You have probably helped hundreds if not thousands of soldiers become adopted!!!
