We decided to switch from a studio to a one bedroom for our March vacation, so I went online last night to see what was available, as the 7 month mark is today. Literally everything is available. Even the value one bedroom at AK Jambo House. We ended up choosing a Savannah view at Jambo.

I had read that one bedrooms are generally easier to come by than studios, but I was surprised to have my choice of literally any resort (other than Poly, of course, which has no one bedrooms). Looks like we have a lot of one bedroom trips in our future.

That's great-I think for fall trips you might find more limited options but you are right they typically are the last to go so definitely will have more availabilty than studios then as well. Enjoy your trip!

That's great! We were at Jambo for a mid December trip in'14 to see the beautiful Holiday decorations.:santa: VERY PLEASED, sat in the lobby early mornings sipping coffee admiring the gorgeous Christmas tree, loved the peaceful vibe! Stayed at Kidani years ago, like both resorts, but prefer having the quickserve right at Jambo, very convenient! ENJOY!

That was a big reason I went for Jambo rather than Kidani. We did Kidani once and really enjoyed it, but I missed the convenience of having the main lobby close by. We'll still head over to Kidani to go to Sanaa, which is one of our favorites, but we are looking forward to enjoying the big pool, playground, and all the restaurants. :)

What?! Plenty on here would have you believe that you must buy where you want to stay, because availability is so limited you won't be able to get in anywhere other than your home resort. I figured if you had some traveling flexibility, then that wasn't the case. For now anyway.

In fairness, I do think it helps that we've recently moved to Canada so our school vacations and start dates are not the same as most in the US. BUT - this will be our 6th DVC stay since we bought in 2013, and we've stayed at our home resort once. It's been a mix of studios and 2 bedrooms, and we've always stayed exactly where we wanted - AKV, OKW, BLT, VWL, VB, and now BCV. So I think unless you want Epcot area during F&W, there is flexibility to visit non-home resorts. Our home resort is BLT, which we do really love. We just also like checking out all the other resorts.

I think what really threw me this time was seeing the value room available at AKV, as I thought they were much like unicorns - you hear about them but never see them. ;)
