We are off to Disney next week, I got the cases out last week and started throwing a few bits in and DH asked why I was being so organised this year as I usually leave packing til the last minute, so I told him I wanted to get packed so that I could clean the house top to bottom before we leave so he asks why *** after 3 weeks I will have to do it again when I get home. Well he is right I tell him but if we get burgled while we are away I can't have the burglers saying we are messy!

Does anyone else think like me or have I actually gone mad :confused3

I have various lists of things to do before we leave for Orlando. Cleaning the house is not one of them :rolleyes1

I always clean the house so that when we get back all I have to is the washing and the house is nice and tidy. It would be even more depressing than normal to get back to a messy house and have to start cleaning it :headache:

may be on OH list though :lmao:

My house must be spotless and wash basket empty. Everyone just stays well away from me the week before we gp :lmao:

The cleaning part makes sense its the worring what a burgler might think that makes me wonder if I have gone mad!

:lmao:

I'm another one who cleans from top to bottom, my DH keeps saying he wants to holiday more often as it is the only time our house is tidy! :rotfl:

Although I do so every Saturday (no germs can stay hidden!!), I clean to the extra extreme before a holiday, (bleach fridge shelves, clean the oven, etc etc)

Makes it a little sweeter coming home.

Although we've never left our cat for two weeks, so I'm pretty sure our bream carpets willl all be black with her fur when we get home. :sad2: We have to pick it up everyday normally!

Same as everyone else,I clean top to bottom (bedding, etc),also I hate leaving washing in the basket so that's done too,all beds made on the morning we leave..I can't help it.:rotfl:Always done it even when we've gone away just for a week the house is spotless.I've infact started cleaning now,Carpets etc just getting prepared.:thumbsup2

Your not Peter Kay's mum are you??????

Don't forget to put the plant in the sink, leave the radio on so they think you are in. Oh and put a cushion in front of the video recorder so they cant see it through the window ;)

Hope you have a nice time!!!!

I always clean all the house so its tidy when we get back lol, we go in two weeks and Im sorting things out to pack (as well as trying to clear the spare room to turn into the new babys nursery lol)

That's exactly what I do and how I would feel.:thumbsup2

We don't do any extra cleaning, just the usual weekly clean that DW does on a Saturday morning, quick vac around on a Wednesday if needed.

no ur not mad :)
ive emptied and defrosted both fridges and freezers the past week.
ive run down all the sauces etc so weve no open bottles when we're away.
going to hoover and clean the floors after lunch.
the bathroom mats are in the wash and im going to wash the towels after we use them tomorrow morning. :thumbsup2

its good to clean now and when you get back as theres likely to be loads of dust when u get back.xx:goodvibes

We aren't going until the end of July and already I am mentally thinking about what will need to be done. Beds changed, towels washed, my car cleaned and hoovered (even though will be on the drive for 2 weeks), milkman cancelled, shopping list passed to my sister to get the essentials in for when we get back and the house then cleaned from top to bottom. I am even that sad that when DH and the kids are in the car I will hoover again in the hallway where DH would have been walking in and out putting the luggage in the car. Then I can relax :laundy:

:faint: You will be ready for a holiday after that.

We once had a painter and decorator in while we were away, now thats a pain to come home and start arranging furniture and hanging pictures/mirrors
