Ok folks I've been sent on a mission and just KNOW that all of you will help me out.
Here's the situation: I am troop leader for a troop of 9 Cadette Girl Scouts (7th graders, 13 years old). Last fall as a service project they made cards and wrote letters to my brother in law (Major in the Air Force) and his crew. They had heard about the any serviceperson program but since we discovered that was shut down we went with someone we knew. Well that relationship sort of grew when they received some responses.
These young ladies decided it was their "duty" (their word not mine) to do their part. So they wanted more. I saw Pembo's post on Marines, contacted her, and sent an email to my co-leader about it. Just happened as she was reading it she mentioned it to her daughter. Well you KNOW how fast teenage girls can burn up the phone lines.
Here's the bottom line - they want to "adopt" someone in every branch of the service! Help! We have Air Force and Marines now - how about Navy? Army? Coast Guard? Who am I missing?
And don't worry about sending me too much. If we get more than we can handle there are other troops standing in the wings just WAITING to get in on this program. Feel free to PM me.
THANKS!
Deb
