Have Disney Parks changed their image and are no longer aimed at families and children anymore?

This is actually been our experience also. We aren’t big shoppers and aren’t spending hundreds of dollars on souvenirs but we did recently go to Disney Springs and were overwhelmed with the crowds and loud blasting music. We don’t drink much even on vacation and it just was not a place we wanted to be. I can’t even imagine bringing children there.

Everyone is different… and thankfully the Disney resorts have something for everyone to enjoy! You’re not lumped into a corner if you’re say… not a movie buff like at universal.

I don't have children and it's not a place I want to be anymore. My mom and I had some good memories there back when it was Downtown Disney. We liked Raglan Road and Captain Jack's, the old Fulton boat restaurant, going through a few shops and sitting outside with a coffee and free chocolate from the Ghirardelli shop. I'll admit parking was always a bit of a problem, but it still had Disney charm. Now it feels like some kind of city nightlife nightmare that I can't even find my way around :( I regret it every time I try to go back.

I don't know about dual income but the average age women are having children is definitely changing. In 1971, when WDW opened it was 21, now it's nearly 28. In addition the age that we stop having active healthy lives has also risen by around 7 years. WDW doesn't want to miss out on those 14 years.

As a parent of a 3 year-old I feel like Disney has made a big effort over the past 2 years to really incorporate more things for the younger audience. Cook Kid summer was a noticeable hit for us last year, and I'm really glad to see that they're offering even more for that this summer.

We're very excited for Pueblo Esperanza at AK and also Monsters Inc. land.

The Bluey activation at AK is another HUGE thing geared toward younger families.

Changing It's Tough to Be a Bug to Zootopia seems to appeal to a younger audience.

We were already able to experience the new Animation Courtyard area and the new Mickey Clubhouse show and that was definitely a hit.

Probably most looking forward to the new Magic of Disney Animation experience in the old Launch Bay area.

Other notable updates over the past few years have been Country Bears, Moana: Journey of Water, and the Little Mermaid show.

I'd even go as far to say that the new Mandalorian & Grogu overlay on Smuggler's Run is a bigger hit with a younger crowd. My daughter loved it!

All that to say, compared to years past, it feels like there's a lot of new things that just debuted and are still coming to really cement more offerings for younger families.

Oh, and one last sign that they're trying to get younger families back to the parks are the discounts they've been offering the past few years with Kids eat free, kids discounted tickets, etc. :-)
