We're celebrating one of my relatives, my MIL's 90th this weekend with a family party. Her actual birthday in on Monday. We have a great relationship. :)

I had 2 Aunts & 1 Uncle who all reached 92/93, they have all passed away :littleangel: now.

Great-grandmother - 99

Great-grandfather - 104

Grandfather - 89 - almost made it

The others - 80's.

We live long. :)

My Grandpa did as did his brother. It isn't all that uncommon these days-even getting to 100 isn't all that uncommon. Happy Birthday to your MIL.

Both of my grandmothers. My dad's mom's siblings all made it past 90. My grandmas passed away at 92 and 94.

My daughter's great grandmother is 93 and her brother is 98!

My great, great Aunt was 93 when she passed away. Also My Grandma is turning 90 in January.

Grandmother - 90

Great-grandmother - 96

DH's grandfather - 93

All in good health until just shortly before they passed away. :goodvibes

My great-grandmother (my dad's dad's mom) was 106 when she died. She was living on her own up to the last year or so (when her granddaughter moved in with her) and did her own light housekeeping (laundry, sweeping, vacuuming, etc.) up until she was like 103.

Great grandfather 104? Is he still living? Wow, great for him. Any insight on how he has lived his life to live that long?

My grandma is 99, and is busy planning her 100th birthday party for April! I bought her "too many" Halloween stickers for the letters she writes, and she said, "I'll just save the extra for next year". Still lives alone, and only gave up driving last summer. She's amazing!

My FIL is 90. Until the past month of so, he also has been very healthy and active. We're hopeful that he can get past the problems he's having now and back to his old self soon.

For his birthday, a nonprofit he helped found invited friends and relatives to give $90 in his honor -- several thousanda dollars was raised!

My great-grandmother lived to 99, my grandma lived to 92, and my other grandmother is still alive now at 90. My grandma who died at 92 had 2 brothers who lived into their 90's as well. My husband has 3 aunts living, all in their 90's. I hope this trend continues in our family!

My Grandma turned 94 in September still in good health.

My grandma and her twin sister turned 91 in Sept. They also have an older living sister, but I don't know how old she is.

My great grandmother lived until she was 92 or 93. My grandparents are in their late eighties and doing great. In fact all 4 of my grandparents are in their 80's and still alive and doing well. :)

My dad was 93 going on 94. He was born in 1912. I used to love listening to his stories. Once he was talking about how he liked going to the movies. I kidded him that they would have been silent movies, and he said that of course they were. He used to make money by cranking cars for people. His first memory of his father was coming home one day when he was just around 5 years old and there was a very tall man in a uniform sitting in the kitchen-his dad had finally come home from the war. (He had been in France since the war started! Lancashire Fighting 55th) One night we were outside watching for the space shuttle to pass over our part of the world (one of those times when it was visible) I couldn't get over the things that he had seen in his lifetime. Dirigibles in WWI to the space shuttle! He ended up in the British Merchant Marine & was torpedoed oct. 1941 off the coast of Iceland. He survived that because he had a habit of sleeping in his life jacket. He & my mother moved to the states when he was in his 40's. He was 51 when I was born. We all miss him. wow. I really rambled! This thread just made me think of my dad.

He lived at home till he died with my great-grandmother, with some light housekeeping assistance, but they were pretty independant. I think it helped that they spent a lot of time outdoors all of their lives, getting exercise and fresh air.

That was so nice! Thanks for sharing that. :)

My grandfather was 91 when he was killed in a farming accident (yep, still farming at 91!!). I'm sure he'd still be around today and approaching 100 - he was healthy as a horse (that's what he always told me).

My grandmother passed away a few days ago at 89. I always thought they'd live forever.

It's so good to read about all of these people with these amazing long lives!
