Have any of you gals proposed to your guy?

Just curious.. I"ve always dreamed of getting engaged at Disney... but how does that happen unless you drop horribly obvious hints?

So I thought maybe in the future I'll take the bull by the horns...

Have any of you ladies proposed? And how did you do it? (even if not at dis).. and did you get a ring.. or?

And do you regret it?

I've been lurking here for several months, too nervous to post. We've been discussing a DFTW since February. I don't even care where the proposal takes place, as he has already told me it will not be at Disney. I just had to respond to you. I am beginning to think about doing it myself too -- I want to set a date! I'd also like to hear from any girls out there who proposed to their guys!

Just waiting...and here I am watching that Food Network DFTW Special...again! That was how I got him hooked on the idea in the first place! It didn't even take any effort -- after that NOTHING else was good enough.

hey ladies! my dbf and i have been dating for 2 1/2 years now and even though we do have 2 upcoming disney vacations in the near future (july and december) it will not be happening either of those trips. however, i just flat out told my dbf that i will be extremely dissappointed if he pops the question anywhere except disney . i have been going ever since i was in mommy's tummy, every year since at least once with my parents, and i still keep the magic alive with going at least once a year with my family and including the love of my life also. i couldn't imagine being asked to marry the man of my dreams anywhere else , and i've clearly explained this to him. good luck with whatever you do. and power to you if you decide to go for it and pop the question. make sure you pick yourself out a real nice ring.

I say go for it! You can ask him and then shop for the engagement ring together (which is A LOT of fun, by the way, and you get something you love).

After eight years of dating we kind of decided together that it was time to get around to getting married. We shopped together for my ring and he asked to hold on to it so he could propose "properly." Two months later we offically became engaged.

We also sort of decided together, but I guess I started the conversation, so sometimes I do feel like I proposed. I don't regret it, I really liked growing together and feeling empowered to make the decision, rather than waiting for DH to propose. (btw, we did not get engaged or married at Disney)

ETA: Not criticizing a traditional proposal of waiting for the guy to ask, by the way, just offering a different view on the topic. I think all proposals and weddings are great, especially Disney ones!!

My boyfriend and I talk about our wedding and such all the time though I'm not formally engaged yet. It all started with him making little comments about our house or kids, etc. I never really got into it because I was a little scared.

So, he's always wanted a log home. Well, he knew I was serious when he found my little stash of about ten log home magazines! I had been buying them because I was imagining living in a log home like he wants. After that, we both started the "when we get married" sentences.
