Have any of you ever done a Eurostar daytrip?

My Mum’s birthday is the end of January, and she is SO tempted for her and my dad to come out with us on the direct Disney Train and then head back again on the later direct train too. I’d love for her to have the day with us at Disney!!

Is it do-able? I’m hoping there wont be many lines (it will be a Sunday though – thoughts?)

Would only give you about 5 hours in the park though wouldn't it??

Not really worth it IMO. I'd look at arriving on the Sunday and then a night in a local(ish) budget hotel and leaving on the Monday. Would leave you with a lot more time for the parks and only add £40-50 on top (other than park tickets)

And what if the Eurostar was running late - you'd lose even more time from the relatively small amount you have.

If you're looking at day trips a flight may be better as you can often find a very early morning flight and a very late night flight back (depending on airline/UK airport), maximising the time there better (even allowing for the transfer time from CDG or Orly). Though again, delays could ruin it.

I'm with Cap'n Jack i would suggest adding in a nights stay to make the trip more magical and get around some of the downsides of a daytrip.

I'd say that given their (possible) age it would probably be beneficial for them to do the Eurostar and a night rather than flying though. That's just my opinion

My parents won’t do anything budget! Lol, they fly 1st class on 2 hour flights and my dad won’t go planes unless planes with 1st class fly there. So they will be CC or nothing I’d imagine.

It’s more the time that’s the trouble, they get back a week earlier from 3 weeks away over xmas, and my Mum doesn’t think my dad will want to go away again overnight that soon….to Disney….

I think they should go to Paris for the Saturday afternoon/evening and then DLRP for opening and we can meet them later on…..as it would be a lot easier to convince my dad of a night in Paris than one at Disney, lol.

That sounds like a very nice idea. Hmmmmm maybe I could convince the wife to do something like that and combine it with the DIS meet

Errr....Nope it escapes me

I've done coach day trips. Just not a Eurostar one. 5 hours in the park doesn't seem worth it really

I've done a day trip, i wouldn't mind spending a few hours there. A few hours is better than nothing.
I've also done a paris day trip.

I did a day trip in March and i would say its do-able if you plan what you want to get done. Also The Eurostar leaves a hour later now which gets you to Disney at about 1.30pm.
I would say go for it!

Couldnt they get an early morning train to Lille and swap onto to tgv giving them a longer day? Am I right in thinking it only adds on 30 mins to the journey time?

Great Idea!! I've been looking at Paris Trains, not Lille ones - shall chck times now!!

I did a day trip a couple of years back on the direct service. I managed to do everything I wanted to but I was solo so didn't have to please anyone but myself

I think 5 hours on a quiet day will be perfect for my folks. They've been a few times for disney so it wont all be new to them, but ahven't been to DLRP for 8 years or so. My mum loves the parades and my dad just loves the Disney Company as a machine. He says he admires them as a business because they can make him spend thousands of pounds and still feel happy about it!

He really enjoys jsut seeing me and my mum have a good time (well that's what he says) in reality he's the one walking fastest, map in hand straight to BTM and Peter Pan. Hahaha.
