I was supposed to be going with a friend and her 2 kids since my dh won't be able to make this trip. Well, she couldn't get the days off and now that leaves me with my 3 kids (3,5,7) and a 2BR in Saratoga Springs Resort. Do you think this is do-able? :( I don't have the heart to tell my kids we may have to cancel.

I went with my dad and my 2 little ones ( I have 4 oldest and dh stayed home for school) We had a great time. Mind you that the ages were 2 and 1 and I did it! I flew and all by my self :confused3

I don't know how it will be with 3 kids, but I'm going alone with my son in a couple of weeks. How do you do when you're out with them without another adult?

Count us in, going on first Father-Daughter trip to WDW in March. Wife had to work... 26 days and counting... Time to pack the bags....

:) It ain't easy! DD3 has cancer, DS5 has ADHD/PDD and my DS7 just has an attitude ;) . My hands are full, as they say, but heart is bursting! I'm sure I'll figure it out. Thanks everyone!

I had a great time alone with my 3 kids. My husband had to stay at work while we escaped the aftermath of Hurricane Wilma. I had no problem, so go for it!!! In fact im going in 10 days with all three of them again!

Thank you!!!!! You just made my day! 2 weeks to go........ :hourglass :hourglass

I only have 2 kids - but they always seem to behave better when there's only one of us there - my husband travels a lot so it's just as well - i guess they realise that there is no playing us off against one another

I went alone with DD9 this summer and had the best time ever !!!! It was just her & I and we did everything "we" wanted to do ! Now you're going with 3 smaller children and that's a bit different than my trip ...but I would say go for it and ENJOY !!! Be sure and take your time ... don't rush around trying to see and do everything. MAKE SURE YOU'RE KIDS HAVE ID'S WITH YOUR CELL PHONE # and their other important info on it. That was my biggest worry about going alone. That I was the sole person responsible for her. I put down emergency (home) numbers and cell phone # ,just in case we got separated. We were fine and we'll do again ,just the 2 of us! . Happy Planning :flower: :flower:

I took my 6 yr old DD 2 years ago. We met my older DD there, who was at a Cheer competition. We stayed at Pop. The older DD stayed offsite w/ the team. Things went so well that I've gotten up the nerve to take the 8 yr old camping at FW over Easter break! (Dad can't take off work, I teach and have the time off, the teen's just not into it right now.)

I had the first half of my 2004 June trip was solo with my two kids, both whom are very active. My husband flew in the last two days to join us, but we were fine. I was kind of nervous being that it was so busy at that time, but we really had no problems!

I keep saying I'm going to take the kids on my own; but, honestly, I haven't been brave enough. Our two younger children are a challenge when there are 2 adults to handle them! They're never hungry or have to use the restroom at the same time; and one is still too small for many of the rides the older one enjoys. While our oldest child can be some help, he is 13 and...that pretty much sums it up.

I took my kids (then DD7 & DS3) myself two years ago. We absolutely had a blast! Hoping to do it again this summer.
The only things that I found a little 'challenging' as a single mom was the nightly trek from the bus stop back to the room carrying a sleeping child. DS could never hold out until we got back. Luckily, I managed to keep DD awake, because I really would have been up a creek with 2 sleep! :) Also, I think the rides could have been an issue if DS wasn't such a daredevil at the time and had no fear riding anything. Luckily he was a very tall 3, and was tall enough to ride everything, so the 3 of us rode together. Might not have been as much fun (for me!) if we'd had to stand in long lines for DD to ride things while I waited with DS.
If I had it to do all over again, I also would have asked more often for people to take pictures of all of us together. I just forgot most of the time, and ended up with a lot of great shots of the kids, but in retrospect I would have liked to capture more of the great time the 3 of us had together!!
At any rate, I just wanted to say that it is absolutely do-able! I hope you guys go and have a great time!

I took my 5 and 2yo girls and my friend took her 5 and 2yo boys this past December. We flew down, shared a room at the Poly and had a blast. I am now planning another trip for my girls for this December.

You have control of the trip so yes you can definitely do it!!! I go every year with my dds. And have been since they are babies. They are now 5 and 8 and 5yr is ADHD also. You take your time. Read the kids and decide what to do. Before you go sit down with them and make them feel like part of the planning. Give them some choices for dinner and have each pick one and call it their dinner night. Have a leader of the day and they become the map tour guide for the day. That is my girls favorite thing to do.

Good luck need any more tricks just ask.
