I have been debating this as well for a trip that will consist of myself (I'm 20), my sisters (15 and 22), and my cousin (15). I think if you have never gone before you should go. However, for your 21st birthday there are a lot of really, really nice signature restaurants that might be more fun. I am celebrating my 21st birthday at Citrico's in Decmber. I considered CRT but decided I wanted a more "adult" experience for my 21st. I have eaten at CRT for lunch, and it is definitely something to experience. It is so cool to get to actually go IN the castle.

I guess that wasn't much help, good luck deciding!

I read alot of bad reviews for a few of the places we went (Chef Mickey's, Coral Reef) but was pleased :woohoo: . It's really hard to tell sometimes, and you couldn't easily hear great reviews then visit them on an off day (or vice versa). I've never ate there, but heard that dining in the castle is an experience in itself, and if you really want to eat there you should. And if you decide to eat there, and it is less then perfect, I just let it roll off my back (California Grill for our 25th anniversary was horrible :sad2: ), and went on with fun.

Can't beleive I am agreeing with a sinner, uh I mean Sooner, but go and have fun. The experience of the castle isn't something you can do every day.

:rotfl2: We'll see on the field this season - we just lost our star quarterback, may not be the best one for us :sad2: !
I skipped the castle this time due to time constraints, but I think I'll try if on a future date, maybe try for when the fireworks are going off. I've heard others mentioning being in the castle doing dinner then, and I think that would be awesome :goodvibes .

We had dinner at CRT during our last trip in Dec. It was a wonderful experience. We got to see and hear Wishes and the fireworks from inside the castle. They turned the lights down and it was magical. pixiedust: The food was great too.

First of all...GO SOONERS! My husband and I are both OU grads. We ate at CRT in Nov 05. The food was not memorable but I am glad we ate there. It is a WDW experience. I think everyone should eat in the castle once!

Our dining experience was wonderful. We both had the prime rib and you could have cut it with a fork.

The ambience speaks for itself. You should at least try it once.

Can't beleive there are actually OU fans that went to the university. Most of the fans do not even know that there is a university on the other side of the football stadium. I too graduated from zero U but fortunately the college of medicine is in OKC ( and it was during John Blakes tenure when we actually had a chance.) Anyway, this is waaayyy OT but I was really proud of Stoops and his decision about Bomar. It is hard not to like the guy. Thanks for the fun jabs.

At least when we talk Disney we all are on the same team. :cheer2:

We had CRT Lunch for free dining August 2005 and...we will do it again for free dining August 2006. In fact we will be there 6 days from now for my 36th birthday! :teeth: I wondered if we'd do it or not this trip since it's two TS credits per person, but my kids, DS12 and DD8, really enjoyed it so I decided what the heck why not on my bday while we're at it. Honestly I think my son wants to go back to get his picture with Jasmine again. Her costume and beauty made him look like this... :teeth:   in the pictures.

We went in May for breakfast with DD(5)- first thing we did-

Its not the food you are going for.

Got into MK early and got fabulous pictures of DD going up to castle alone in her cindy dress. If possible book for pre park opening time.

lucked out with window seats overlooking the carosel.

Food was ok - memories were priceless.

Do it at once - then involk the rule we did with DD- Cindy only invites people the first time they come to DW so all the kids have a chance to meet her.

I had never done the dinner there but we went this past trip and had a great time, but were surprised with the "Fairy Godmother Show". Do they do this at lunch, too. I am over the top disney, but I think it was a little much. Little kids would love it, but my family would have liked a little less of her while they were eating.

Eating in the castle is great and we even liked our dinner though. Just thought I'd mention this since you are adults.

We have done it the last two years and doing again next month. Never had a bad experience. I have felt rushed and determined that this time we are going to relax and take our time.

The service was excellent and so was the food.

I think most of the complaints come from the price. It's way too much. I agree with that but I want to eat in the castle so I pay the price. I want to stay conceirge too but can't afford that but I can afford to add this special meal. You pick and choose sometimes and if this is something that appeals to you then do it. I love it.

Just a quick OT note - I agree with you and what Stoops did - Bomar broke the rules, he has to take the consequences.
I was there during Barry Switzer, so it was easy to get rabid about it real quick. But I try to be fair too, and don't like to talk smack. Just watched a replay of OSU beating Texas Tech. That was awesome.
Was at OU when I took my first long trip to WDW. I guess I was so caught up in football and school, I didn't really catch the magic until this last trip with my DS. He is the main reason I didn't even consider the castle this last trip (and thus ran out of time). Next time we go he may be closer to twelve - maybe I can get a princess meal and get him to pose with a princess. This last time, he was ducking under tables  at the Norwegian place.

Nee Nee and Biddy - GO SOONERS!!!!!

If you have never been to CRT, go! It is a must at least once. We have enjoyed both times, Breakfast and Lunch. The Princesses are great, and to be in the Castle is neat. Adults and Children its a must at least once.

The food is another story. Its no V&A or LeCellier. But most don't go to the Castle for the food anyway. If I had my choice I would go to breakfast again. The food was more than just OK. Its hard to mess up breakfast food.
The only problem I had with lunch food was it was cold. It think since its preplated it must sit out and get cold. Who knows? Just wasn't that impressed with the flavor too. But, I like San Angel Inn so what does that tell ya? :rotfl:
