Well my fine Dis friends, I am off to the zoo with the kiddos for one last grand adventure before school starts in two weeks. My DD is going to grandma's house on Thursday for a week and I want to do something with all the kids.:cheer2:

Have fun with your kids at the zoo...and even when they get wild, DON'T LEAVE THEM THERE! :rotfl2:

Thanks guys, we had a great time yesterday looking at all the animals. They were having a special exhibit at Brookfield Zoo (near Chicago) called extreme bugs that we just had to check out.

There was this giant bee at the front of the zoo trying to get people to spend there hard earned money to see the bug exhibit. It moved and made a buzzing sound which really scared the kids at one point.

Ah how cute he looks with the giant bug behind him. LOL

OK, I couldn't pass this up. A lady bug climbing a VW bug painted to look like a lady bug. I think it is love.:rotfl2:

This next couple of pictures is the kids with the giant bugs in the exhibit. I tried to get them to make scared faces, and think they did a good job. What do you think?

So is it bad of me that I continually thought about Animal Kingdom when we were there. The words "You can see these guys on the Safari at Disney World" kept coming from my mouth. I even remember mentioning ITtbB while were looking at a giant stink bug.

We headed home a little before closing (baby was getting antsy) and were on our way home. Got a little lost going home, but we found our way and a Burger King to eat at for Dinner.:thumbsup2

It looks like you all had a great time!!! I agree - I have a hard time going to our zoo, knowing that AK is so much better. ;)

D~

Great pictures!!! Your kids truly looked like that had a wonderful time! :goodvibes So funny what you said about thinking of AK while you were there. I was the SAME WAY at our zoo!!! Even funnier? Guess what I requested we do for my birthday next weekend? Dinner at Rainforest Cafe in Opry Mills and Members Night at the Zoo....I will just imagine myself at AK having dinner at RC there, then enjoying the animals. :thumbsup2

It looks like you guys had a good time! :thumbsup2 I think it's awesome there are giraffe there! :cool1:

Thanks silverhaze, we had a great time. The giraffes are one of my favorites and we almost missed them. (The baby was getting really crabby.) But we happened to see them on the way out and couldn't help but make a quick stop.

There are definatly parts of the zoo that I enjoy, but theres something so relaxing about the safari and being abe to see so many anmals with no fences or cages in sight. (OK, I admite that I saw a fence by the cheetas.) Plus they are adding zebras, I love zebras.:goodvibes

Thanks oopsi, the kids had a wonderful time and are already asking me when we can go again. Got to love zoo membership.:) Wait a second, your birthday is next weekend? I am actually going to the Ren Faire with my Dad and his girlfriend next Saturday to celebrate our birthdays. (Mine is on Monday and his is in Mid-September.) LEO's RULE!!!! :lmao: I knew there was a reason I liked you.:rotfl2:

Hey everybody, just checking in to see how everyone is doing. I had a pretty good day yesterday for my 39th birthday. It was such a good day that I decided to do it all again next year.:lmao:

First phone call I go was from my DD's doctor. I had taken her on thursday because she was complaining that her throat her, and sure enough the test came back positive for strep. So I had to pick up her antibiotics and meet her and grammy. (She is spending the week with her grammy before school starts and they were heading to Chicago for a doctor appointment yesterday with her aunt.)

I was going to go mini golfing with a friend but we couldn't find the indoor glow in the dark mini golf (it was raining) so we just ended up eating at chili's instead. While eating my dad called and I had a long talk with him, I can't wait to see him on Saturday when we go to the Ren faire together. (I hope to remember to take some pics that I can share.)

I hope to have a late birthday lunch with some friends of mine today, and than get the kids some back to school cloths. I can't believe the kids are going back to school next week and Aidan will be starting kindergarten.:scared1:

Than I really need to figure out what I want to make for Mia for the next trip. 9 1/2 months seems like a lot of time, but with 4 kids I always seem to be busy. I should have more time when the kids are at school.

Happy Be-lated birthday!! Great pics of the zoo. I think I'd prefer Chili's over mini-golf. Hope you dd feels better soon and the rest of the family doesn't get strep!

Happy belated birthday! :cheer2:

I think it's crazy school is going back already! Time flies! I hope you have an awesome time at the Ren faire on Saturday! :goodvibes

Yay, another August baby! Glad to hear you had a great birthday! Have a wonderful time at the Ren Fair this weekend with your dad! :goodvibes

BTW~ turning 40 is AWESOME! I am not even lying... I LOVED turning 40! :joker: Now turning 41 this Monday is just sort of blah. :upsidedow

Thanks Tink, I ended up having a great time. Mia is feeling better, she is still at Grammy's and is having alot of fun. It's been a week since Mia started showing symptoms and the other kids (and myself) are all still healthy.:thumbsup2

Thanks silverhaze. I know I can't believe the kids are going back to school already, when I was a kid I remember going to school around the time of Labor day. Well at least this way they get out by the end of May which makes are trip easier.

My mom used to joke with me that there were so many August babies because 9 months previous was when it started getting cold and people could go outside anymore for fun so they found other forms of enjoyment. :rotfl2:

Good to know about turning 40. So you are saying I should stop at 40? :lmao: Yea for your upcoming birthday on Monday. Hey, your bday will always be a week after mine. :)

OK everyone I need some help and you all are the people to ask. I have been thinking and thinking and really want to have something special at the resort for the kids when we are at Disney. I also remember reading about the bag that D recieved from a friend while down there and I loved the idea. So I have three diffrent ideas and would love your help to help me figure it out. I also have pics.:cheer2:

So here is idea #1:

idea4.jpg

This first one is the bag that D recieved. It is a insulated Mickey lunch bag full of snacks and drinks. This one is only $40 and has alot of the snacks that I know my kids would like. I am thinking that I might have to get two though so each child gets a bag, or maybe I will just keep the bag all to myself.:thumbsup2

Here is idea #2:

idea1.jpg

This is also filled with goodies, but they seemed to be more disney theamed then bags of chips which I really like. I also really love this bag and it can be personalized which is great. This one is almost 2X's as much so I could definatly get only one. This one costs $70.

Here is idea #3:

idea2.jpg

OK I love how this one is filled with so many snacks that I will definatly will not be wanting more. But the thing I really don't like is besides Disney snacks, the basket doesn't have anything that reminds me of Disney like the other two. It is a great laundry basket though. This one costs much more at $142.

Idea #4:

OK, ok I know I said only 3 but I had to add this one on for fun. This would be the basket for the adults after a long day walking around the parks. It looks great, but at about $100 dollars I doubt it will be making an appearance. :rotfl2:

idea3.jpg

So let me know what you think?
As of right now I am kind of thinking about 2 of #1 or both #1 and #2 if I have the money. (I really like #2's bag.:goodvibes)

The bag behind door #2 gets my vote! Such a cute bag and the Disney themed snacks are great too. :thumbsup2 Does it cost extra to personalize it? That could effect your decision. :confused3

Can't wait to see what you choose...popcorn::

Yea it does cost extra to personalize, but it is only $8 so not much at all. Plus if I don't want to have it personalized I don't need to have it done. Thank you for your oppinion. :thumbsup2

Hmm..... well, in my house, we'd get more use out of the lunchbox in #1 than the tote in #2 (we being the kids). However, I'd get more use out of the tote in #2 than the lunchbox. :rolleyes1

I'd look at which bag you'd get more use out of (thus getting more bang for your buck). Or if you're counting pennies (as I am right now), I'd go for the cheaper option. You can always supplement the snacks with goodies found at the local grocery store. :thumbsup2
