Hello! I'm wicked behind the game, but I'm here! I'm catching up now

So that is when I came up with the idea to split up the trips to every other year and with only on kid at a time for there birthday. My eldest, Liam, got to go this year in May for his 9th birthday. So 2013 will be my DD's year!!!

Next is my DD Mia.

She is currently 6 years old but will be almost 8 when we go. While her birthday is in July I am planning on going on the trip at the end of May for cooler weather and slightly cheaper prices.

That's such a great idea! These are trips your children will remember for a lifetime because they get to spend quality time with you!

ever since i lived here it started mid august and middle of the week. when i was in NY we started right after labor day. this coming year it starts August 6th.. we were both like WHAT?!!?! what were they thinking!??! and its a monday

That's CRAZY! We used to start the week after labor day, but it's moved up to the week before now. I like that way - we get all of our "administrative" stuff done before the holiday and then we can jump right in after. But the beginning of August is crazy talk! It's so hot then! Are the schools air conditioned at least?

Hi D! I've been secretly reading your trip report. It's one of my favorite! So hello from one of your internet creepers!

This is awesome - it is such a rewarding experience - I just love doing it. Unfortunately, I haven't had much time to participate over the last few months, since I've been busy trying to pay for our trip. I am excited to get back into it once I have the time.

I would love to stay at a moderate or higher priced hotel but every time I look at the prices I can't seem to bring myself to shell out the money when I can spend my money on something else. So right now I am looking at two Resorts.

First is Pop Century of course.

The other option would be the new Art of Animation.

Regular rooms should be available for our stay, but since we are going with another mom and DD it might be worth it cheaking out the family rooms. We will have to wait and see.

It's NEVER too early! We've been planning this trip for two years, but then we got engaged and that changed things somewhat!

I'm with you on the hotel concerns. It'd be so nice to stay a bit fancier, but it's so hard to justify when we really only sleep in the rooms. A brand, spankin' new hotel is so tempting, as well! We were originally going to go Boardwalk, but it's significantly more, so we've decided to go AoA. AoA seems beautiful! I'm excited to keep reading to find out where you've officially decided to stay!

That is exciting! So glad he hasn't had any problems. Oh wow! Would you all do anything together or keep it two totally separate vacations?

I would be a combination of both. He hasn't had to be the sole provider for his treatments so we both talked about getting rooms next to each other. It is than my thought to go to the same parks everyday so if we want to meet up we can, but can still do our seperate things. We might even do a couple of ADR's together. We will have to see.

Thanks Tink. I actually got the idea for strawberry ladybugs from the Movie Night thread. A couple of days before the movie night I do some research on the thread and try to get some ideas for the movie nights.

You know what? I plan to pick up some chicken and have a picnic with strawberry ladybugs for Bugs Life night too! Great minds DO think alike! That is when I am stealing your Ants on a Log idea with the apples too. I think we will drink Bug Juice. Such fun!!!!!

I was thinking about doing the Ants on a log idea again, but since we just did I decided not to. (Not to mention that the kids had eaten all the raisens.) Can't wait to see you Bugs Life Movie Night.

The big give is a group of people who try to make families who go on Wish trips a little better. Some people make custom outfits and other things. While others send pixie dust (anything from coloring books to GC for the trips.) It's feels good to see the families enjoy the gifts and has a special place in my heart since our family was chosen for our Wish Trip in 2009.

IYea trying to fingure out where to stay is causing my brain to hurt. But with only a couple of days to figure it out I better do it soon. I was thinking AoA but the rooms are so far from the bus stop. POR sounds nice but unless I get a good PIN I am not sure if I can afford it. Plus than it depends on if Liam and his dad are going because he should be close to us and has very limited funds. I probably start with Pop and see how if goes from there.

So I am so sorry that I haven't posted in a while. It has been super crazy around here plus super hot so I just haven't been in the mood to do much of anything. We did do a DMFN on Monday. We did. .

The Muppets

We kept it pretty simple due to the heat, so here is what we came up with.

We made some bracelets with jingle bells for animals noise makers (just jungle bells and small pompoms strung on string with a needle). The kids had a lot of fun makeing noise after they were finished, but I forgot to take pics. Sorry. These were deemed Animal's noise makers.

So I had alot of ideas floating through my head when I was thinking about ideas. I was going to do Honeydew Melon but completly forgot about it when I was in the store.

So we ended up having the Sweedish Chef's Meatballs, Miss Piggy's Pork and Beans, and Gonzo's Tater Tots (I was going to buy the Smiley face potatoe things but Walmart didn't have them.)

I was also tihinkig about Kermit's frogs legs (chicken legs) but I only wanted to do one protien and the kids chose the meatballs.

For dessert we had Kermit's It's Not Easy Being Green Ice Cream (mint choclate chip) with Rainbow Connection Confetti (sprinkles).

I know what you mean. It's been crazy hot here all week. (We are talking 100 degree's.) We finally got break in the weather this evening. The air doesn't get upstairs of the house very well and it gets super hot.

So today was my beautiful DD's Birthday. Not only was it her birthday it was also golden birthday. That is right today she turned 7 on the 7th day of the 7th month. (Alot of 7's going around.) So I talked to her about what she wanted to do on this day and she chose to go to the opening day of the 25th aniversary of the Bristol Renaissance Faire. And since kids under 12 get in free this weekend it is a go.

We got there just before the gates opened and bought my ticket to enter. I had a coupon to get in for $5 cheaper but ended up not using it because I went to a friends window and she gave me her discount.

We started walking around a bit, visiting friends that I know. When we arrived to Kids Kingdom we decided to stay for a while and play on the ship. We were very excited to be the very first people at Kids Kingdom for the 25th season. After playing there for a little bit we decided to head over to the see the Swordman show. This show is always so funny and I really enjoy going to see it. Plus seeing good looking men in tights don't hurt as well.

This is Bravo Cresendo. Normally the show is with Guido Cresendo but supposidly he told the Queen bad potry and was in the tower. He had his nephew fill in for him.

And of course we can't show a sword show with out a couple of bold and stupid men fighting with swords.

After the show it was noon so we decided to head over to get something to eat. I had originally planned on getting 3 kids chicken nugget meals and one fish and chips, but Liam wanted fish so I didn't get myself anything. It ended up being a good thing because Aidan didn't finish his meal so I ate about half of his food. Not really what I would have chosen, but it was food.

We than started walking around again and found ourselves back at Kids Kingdom. I let them play for a bit, but soon left because I was on the hunt for a new show that featured female singers called Sirena. Unfortunatly we caught the end of the show and only heard one song, but that one song was very good. I than let the kids go through a short maze and than headed to Nobles Glade to see some courtly Dancing. I used to be part of the Queens court so visiting some old friends is always on my to do list.

After a short, not to exciting visit we started walking around the faire in search for some fun. That is when we saw Adam Crack Whip Fire show. I have never seen this show before (and leared that he had been on Conan OBrien last year) and really loved it. I accidently took some video of him when I was trying to take some pics of the fire portion of the show. It came out to have worked out great. I was even amazed when I noticed that the grass was on fire at the beginning of the clip.

After the show we headed back to Kids Kingdom so that the kids could play for a little bit. Plus in just over an hour the queen was going to be there knighting the kids andthought it would be a great memory for Mia on her birthday. At first only Mia wanted to become a lady, but in the end all three kids got in line to get knighted by her majesty.

We than headed to see the Barely Balanced show. They are a team of acrobates that we all really enjoy and really like the last show which is also the fire show (see a theme here). These guys are great, if you have a chance to look up these guys on Youtube I would definatly recomend it. The show was great as usual but as they were attempting there last stunt (which was also a new stunt.) They were doing a trick where they were balanced on each other with spray bottles with fuel in it and some sort of shield on them. They lit them on fire and soon I noticed that one of the guys hands were on fire and also the leg. They were able to stop with out anyone getting hurt but the bottles would not go out and now some thing under the stage had caught on fire. They ended up having to pull out the fire extiquisher to put it out. And just when they thought the fire was out they noticed the wet towel they used to put out some of the fire was now on fire. Soon all the fire was out and everyone was alright.

Being only a half an hour from closing we head to the car and drove home. We had a great time, but sure am I tierd.

So yesterday was the day. The day I have been waiting for in long time. One day in a series of days tht ultimate conclusion is a vacation at the most magical place on earth.

I have been think alot about it for the last mont or so. My mind was going over all the diffrient places to stay, which one I could afford, whick one my DD would like the most, and which one that would work out good for the friends and family that I invited to come with me.

Today was expecially hard. I have doing research on times available knowing there was going to be a increase, but it was more of an increase than I thought it would be. I ran all the numbers and in turned out that a basic room at one of the moods was less than $300 dollars less than a prefered room at Pop. So the internal battel that I was having with myself for the last couple of weeks was won. I wanted to stay at a Mod. But this was Mia's special trip so she needed to help me decide. I showed her the pictures on the WDW website starting with Pop. She like all the pictures and there pretty pools. She really liked the picture of POR royal room but I explained that it cost more and I could not afford it. Wha was her decision. . .

Thanks everyone, I am definatly excited about this. It might change, but I am really happy about it right now. The only way it will change though is if the other mods get a good discount and POFQ doesn't. And than it still depends if the discount is big enough if I add a Prefered room upgrade since I like to be close to the Bus stop (medical reasons).

I know I am up late, (I have problems sleeping sometimes) but I have some great news that I just had to share. I was finally able to talk to Liam's father today. He definatly still wants to take Liam at the same time I take Mia and agree's that shareing a room would be financially better for of us. We get along great so I know there will be no problems there. We still have some things to hash out so I am not going to call WDW tomorrow to add them, but it looks very promising. If everything works out than I will be saving myself over $600.

I sent him an email to give him some ideas of how much it will be, so hopefully we be able to talk on the phone soon about what we are going to do. I hope to have a final answer by the time I can make ADR's. It would be nice to eat a meal or two together.
