Have 527 Days Until Our Vacation, But I Need Some Disney Magic Now!*22 DAYS TO GO!!!!

Thank you for the link to the DFMN thread! So many awesome ideas on there..

I have tinkered with the thought of a PTR...maybe when the trip gets a bit closer. It looks fun, just don't know if anyone would read it. I am not as good of a writer as you and Lidian.

Oh-, by the way is anyone doing any point earning websites on the internet to save for Disney? I just started a little over a week ago and am wondering how much I can actually save. I am doing Swag Bucks (have about 250 points), Mypoints (have about 205 points), and Opinion Outpost (I have about 410 points). For the first two it seems as if I have a long way to go before I can do anything, but I can already get $41 dollars in the last one. Just worried because I have heard that once you reach a certain point you stop earning points. Suggestions?

Not to butt in or anything ...but I have been doing opinion outpost for almost 2 years. I have been consistent with my point earnings. I make about $10-20 a week depending on how on top of it I am and how often I am accepted to take the survey. I would just keep at it if you have the time.

I also do Surveyhead, Quick Rewards, and MySurvey. Opinion Outpost is definitely my favorite though. :goodvibes

You are not butting in, you ae actually helping me. I have only started these web sites and didn't know if I was wasting my time. I am glad to see that Opinion Outpost is still making you some money. I have made about $50 so far and was unsure if I would be able to keep it up. Never heard of Quick Rewards, but I am doing MySurvey and had been sent to Surveyhead as well. I do like OO the best. I seem to earn more there. It is my hope to earn a nice chunk of money this way for my Disney Trip.

Ok, so I just wanted to pop in and say hey. I don't have alot of new information to share with you this week, but I do have a few small things. Tomorrow night is our DMFN but I might have to postpone in for a couple of days. As of right now I only have a couple of dollars in the bank. I just deposited a check but you all know that it can take a couple of days to clear. I ended up spending some money at a bowling benifit for a good friends son (who was named after my brother). He was born with a heart defect and about a month ago he was able to get a new heart. The family has been struggling since mom had to stop working for awhile to take care of him. We all had a great time and was able to raise over $600 for them.:goodvibes

I am still hoping to do the movie tomorrow, but you will have to forgive me if it is delayed. This weeks movie will be

A Bugs Life

This movie is little more special to me because it was one of the movies that I inherited from brother.:goodvibes

So I have been to Six Flags three time in the last week or so. We have been having alot of fun, especially at the Water Park. (One of these days I will need to remember to bring my camera with me so I can take some pics to share with you all.) Yesterday was alot of fun. I decided to take the kids their on a whim only to find it was Mardi Gras weekend at the park. We watched a couple of parades where we all got some beads, bought a couple of masks, enjoyed some creole food (bourbon chicken, some potato dish, and red beans and rice. Yumm), and got to watch a firework display.

So now I want to share with you all my goofy obsession of finding money there. I found 38 cents on the first visit, 45 cents on the second, and 53 cents yesterday. So as of today the total is $3.99. Not to bad for found money.:lmao:

I also bought a couple of small things a couple of weeks ago at the DO. A couple of lanyards, some pins, a couple Vinylmations, and some other odds and ends. I hope to remember to take some pics tomorrow and share it with all of you.

Major grats on helping to raise money for the family!

Hoping your Bug night goes off without a hitch! Anxious to hear more about it! :goodvibes

I can't believe how much $$ you've found there! I am anxious to hear how much you find total this summer!

Your movie night sounds like a great one - can't wait to hear what you all do for that.

And that is amazing how much $$ you were able to raise for your friend!

D~ <---- who is following Liddy around this morning...

OOOH! A Bug's Life! Another one I can steal ideas for! :lmao: It is on my list of possibilities as well! I have printed off movie graphics for each of the movies I have ideas for and the kids get to pull one from the dish at the end of each movie night to find out what the next one will be. It is so much fun...I just love movie nights! Our next one is in two weeks...

Great money finding..girl you got mad skills!!! :rotfl2:

Thanks Liddy. As you can see I didn't do the movie last night, but things are in order to do tonight.:thumbsup2

Thanks oopsi. Feel free to steal all you want, but I hope you are not to disappointed. It looks like it is going to be a very simple Movie Night.

I love finding money at Six Flags, it make me feel that much closer to the Disney Trip. :thumbsup2

Oh how I wish I could feel closer to our Disney trip. We decided last night that we are going to pay off DH's car in 8 months by making double payments....THEN we can book our next trip and start paying on it. :sad2: This makes me :) that we have somewhat of a plan now, but it makes me :sad1: that I will have to wait another 8 months before I can officially say "We're going to DISNEY!"

So as you probably could see, I was unable to do the Movie Night last night. I ended up having a girl night with my DD. We went to Six Flags and had a lot of fun swimming in the pool and going down some water slides. We finished up the day by eating some food and watching a show. We both had a lot of fun. And since we were at Six Flags you know what comes next. Yesterday I found 29 cents which brings the total now to $3.28.:goodvibes

Oh and one thing before I leave. I just had a look at my ticker and am happy to anounce that 11 months from today I will be in Walt Disney World.
:dance3::banana::cheer2::dance3::banana::cheer2:

That's it for now, hope to return later tonight to share details about the DMFN!

Who needs a metal detector?! Sounds like you are doing a great job. Are you finding it in a lazy river? That's where we've seen it at the water parks around here.

I hope you enjoy your Bug's Life movie night when you get the chance! Can't wait to see what you come up with!

That's so wonderful to help out that family. Medical costs can go through the roof so fast.

Hurray for the 11 month dance.

Happy 11 month dance!! :banana::banana::banana:

Thanks guys.

Actually I haven't found any money at the Lazy river yet. Maybe today.:goodvibes Most of the money I find is actually at the outside food court. It's amazing how many pennies, nickles, or dimes people drop in that area. Hey more money for me.

I was very happy to be able to help out the family, it wasn't alot of money but at least it was something.

So I downloaded the pics into my computer, but I seem to be having trouble uploading them into my photobucket account. I will try again later, hopefully the problem will be corrected by then.:sad2:

So I have been thinking. "A Dangerous Pastime. I know." So while the airplane tickets are not open yet for the trip, I did some looking at the diffrence between Sunday flights and Tue/Weds flights. The cheapest one way flight on sunday would be about $155 while the cheapest Tues flight would be around $77. I am now thinking of delaying my trip and making it Tues/Weds through Tues and save some money. It kind of depends on the how much the packages will cost for both times.:confused3

As you all know I have been putting away $40 every other week to save for this trip. As of right now I have about $700 dollars saved, add another $900 if I contiue to save that $40 every other week. Plus put toward that $1000 from taxes (up to $2000 if I need it). So all of that together will bring me to $2600 dollars. I also plan to add money from a garage sale I have later in the summer, put a few things on ebay, and all the points I have been earning. I hope to earn $100 gilt card from swagbucks, and something from mypoints. Plus I currently have $62 on Opinion outpost which just keeps growing. I don't want to be overconfident, but I think I am going to be fine.:thumbsup2

You are doing GREAT with your saving for the trip! :cool1: Looks to me like you and DD are going to have plenty of $$$ to "do your trip up right!" :woohoo: You are an amazing single mommy, Corri!!!! :flower3:

I'm in - I've made it to page 3 so far but I have to call it a night. Our new addition will get up soon for her feeding and I need a few hours of sleep before then. We are camping this weekend so I should be able to catch up tomorrow. Can't wait to read the rest. We are also going in May 2013 and November 2013. I can't wait and I love that others are planning already too. Look forward to sharing ideas and getting to know everyone. Night!!!

I think it was a photobucket glitch. I was having problems that day too. I kept having to refresh the page or close the window and start over with each download.

The $77 is definately a better deal.

Is it swagbucks where you keep having to change your email addy?

You are doing a great job saving.

How is Liam doing?

I see you are going for SWW 2013. I am half way done with my SWW 2012 TR if you are interested, insert shameless plug, the link is in my siggie.

Ahh your so swee oopsi. Honestly there are days that I feel as if I am the worst mommy in the world. You know those days, when your DD slams the door because she just got in trouble. I try my best to be a good mommy, so it is nice for others to see that.

Looks like you have a great saving plan for your trip :cool1:

Thanks Terkina. I don't know when I will be able to bring my DD back so I want to do it right. I want these memories to last a life time. I want her to bring her DD in 25 years (with me behind her of course.:lmao:) tell her how much she had fun with grandma all those years ago.:goodvibes

Welcom Alayne. I am very excited to see you here. Have fun camping this weekend. I can't wait to get to know you better.:thumbsup2

The $77 is definately a better deal.

Yea that is what I was thinking as well. I am just worried that it will push me further into the summer season which costs slightly more at WDW. So I am going to price out both trips and see what is going to cost me the least money.:confused3

Is it swagbucks where you keep having to change your email addy?

I have only been doing it for a couple of weeks, but I haven't had to change my email address yet. It seems as if I earn points very slowly here since I am not willing to spend money to get points as of yet. The thing that gets me the angiest with these sites is that you can get alot of points from Netflix if you sign up for an account, but I already have an account. Darn I could have used those points.

You are doing a great job saving.

Thank tink, I am definatly glad I have more time to save for this one. I was a little worried at first because my budget is very tight. But since I sat down and figured things out I feel alot more secure.:thumbsup2

How is Liam doing?

He is doing great. The drug study that he has been participating in has been approved by the FDA. So that is good news. He hasn't had any problems for close to a year now. So that is very exciting. He is very excited that his dad might be taking him to WDW at the same time as I am going.:thumbsup2

I see you are going for SWW 2013. I am half way done with my SWW 2012 TR if you are interested, insert shameless plug, the link is in my siggie.

Sounds great, I will have to pop in and check it out. Plug in as much as you want, just remember that when I plug my PTR in one of your threads.:lmao::hug:

Ok, so I was finally able to get Photobucket working. The button to press to download still wasn't showing up so I ended up doing the bulk downloader. Well at least it worked.

So as you know we did a Disney Movie Fun Night last Tuesday.
This weeks DMFN was

A Bug's Life

I honestly kept it very simple this week. When you think of ants and food what is the thing you thing you think of. Picnics right? So I ran through KFC and got some fried chicken (perfect picnic food) with some mashed potatoes, potatoe wedges, mac & cheese, and green beans. (It was double sides at KFC). We at outside on the patio to really get the effect. (Don't mind the mess on the patio, alot of things have taken up residence there until I can go through it for the garage sale.:sad2:)

So for dessert we had some strawberries dressed up to look like ladybugs and gummy worms.

076-1.jpg

We didn't have alot of time to really to do an activitly :sad2: but we will try to do one next week. Sorry it isn't to exciting but we had fun and really enjoyed the movie.

I will end the post with some pictures of some recent purchases at the DO.

Next weeks DMFN will be The Muppet Movie. And yes it was already on the list before Liddy did hers last week. Doesn't mean I am not going to steal some of her ideas, if she ever posts them that is.:rolleyes1

Sounds great, I will have to pop in and check it out. Plug in as much as you want, just remember that when I plug my PTR in one of your threads.:lmao::hug:

Yes, please check it out and feel free to shamelessly plug! I'm also in the process of planning a surprise 2 nighter for Sept on my perpetual TR.

Great movie night! Awesome purchases! Where did you get your idea for strawberry ladybugs?!

You know what? I plan to pick up some chicken and have a picnic with strawberry ladybugs for Bugs Life night too! :cool1: Great minds DO think alike! :thumbsup2 That is when I am stealing your Ants on a Log idea with the apples too. I think we will drink Bug Juice. Such fun!!!!!
