I am glad you are all still around, it would have been lonely here with out my girls.

I am busy trying to plan today's DMFN. Tonights movie. . .

Beauty and the Beast

Hope to be back later tonight to share all the exciting detail.
Until then :wave2:

Okay, LOVE your ants on a log. My girls do not like celery either, so I was planning to do them on graham sticks...but the apples are a much healthier option. I am definitely going to use that idea!!! :cool1: I THINK I may attempt to do turkey legs for our LK night...we shall see. My ideas and intentions are always grand...follow through may not be as great, LOL!!!!

Feel free to steal away girl, though I am sure I am not the first person to think of it.:thumbsup2

I know what you mean about the movie nights. I get so many ideas or try to get some good ideas at least and when the day comes I get a little stressed trying to get things perfect. Simple is better right?:lmao:

So welcome my friends to another exciting

Disney Movie Fun Night

Todays exciting movie is none other than

Beauty and the Beast

I must admite that I hadn't put much thought into the DMFN until yesterday when I decided it was time to cement my plans so I could head to the grocery store and buy what I need. So I sat down and checked out other Disney Theme nights and even the one I did back in 2009 and think I came up with something pretty good.

But the question still what was I going to do for the activity. Now in 2009 I didn't do a activity so I ad no help there. I read alot of idea but nothing sounded like somethin I wanted to do. So after some deliberation I decided that the kids could make bookmarks because one of Belle's favorite things to do was read.

Now the problem was that I couldn't find a bookmark that they could color.:confused3 So I decided to let them color a coloring page of one of their favorite BatB charaters, cut into bookmark shapped sizes, and put clear packing tape on either side.

Here are a couple of pics of them enjoying there activities.

For Dinner we tried to go with a french Theme. We had Chicken Cordon Bleu, Green Bean almondine, Beastly Potaoes, and Candlestick Breadsticks.

Here is a closer pic of the beastly potatoes. The teeth are almond slices and there eyes are simi sweet choclate (can also use raisins).

Here is a closer pic of the beadsticks. I cut the bread stick in half and put them in a mini bagel to keep them up. I used butter for the flame but since it was melting it didn't come out great.

Last but not least we ended our mean with a dessert favorite. Eclairs!

Had to add one last picture of the youngest boys. They will not be going to Disney next year, but it doesn't mean they can't enjoy our DMFN.:goodvibes

Can't wait to see what we will be watching next week. . .

Well I guess your are just going to come back and find out for yourself.

What a great night! The food looks great!!!

We won't be doing B&B on our movie nights, as everyone is very familiar with the characters, and I'd rather plan for characters that will be new to the kids, or ones they don't really know the story of. :thumbsup2 (We have Muppets this weekend for our DN who hasn't seen any Muppet movies.)

The kids did a great job with their bookmarks! What a great idea to let them color pages and trim them down! :thumbsup2

As always, anxious for more! popcorn::

What a fun night!!! I am loving your french provential plates~those are antiques I am sure and so PERFECT for your B&B movie night! I have nothing that exciting...I usually just get some paper plates and napkins to match the color theme of the night. The ideas I am stealing from this one: Chicken Cordon Bleu, Green Beans Almondine and Belle's Bookmarks! :thumbsup2

Thanks Lidian. I can't wait to hear about your Muppets movie night. I might have to stel some of your idea because we will be watching that in a couple of weeks.:goodvibes You DN has not seen any of the muppet movies:scared1:. How did your DH let that happen? :lmao:

I am so glad that the book marks wooked out and it cost very little. I just had to print out the coloring pages from the internet. Might be a great go to if I have trouble finding an activity in the future.:confused3

Are you talking about the green plates and matching bowl? I guess they would be antiques, I actually inherited them from my great grandma. Knowing her, she problably bought them at a dime store during the depresion. They are actually the nicest plates I have and some how it worked for the movie. Other wise I like to use my Mickey plates.:goodvibes I feel so special to have people steal my idea. I knew I had a good idea from time to time.:rolleyes1

I saw in Liddy's TR that you were thinking about going in May for SWW. What dates are you possibly looking at? I am still planning for the end of May and that would be so cool to be able to see you and the kids there. I am sure our girls would get along famously.:cloud9:

Not really looking at dates yet...just considering how to bring it up with DH. :lmao: There are a lot of factors to consider...we had invited my parents to go when we go back and we had already told them October. That is also when my BFF and her family are going back. I just know we would REALLY enjoy a SWW (it is on our bucket list), and I would love to be there when my Disfriends are. :goodvibes At the moment I am waiting until we pay off DH's car in the next few months before I bring it up to him...so we shall see. popcorn::

Well just keep me informed girl. I would love to get my geek on with my Disfriends.:goodvibes My DD isn't really into Star Wars that much (:scared1:) but maybe I can change that in the next 11 months. But since I am doing all the princess things she wants the rest of the week she can give me SWW for a day (or two :rolleyes1)

Oh-, by the way is anyone doing any point earning websites on the internet to save for Disney? I just started a little over a week ago and am wondering how much I can actually save. I am doing Swag Bucks (have about 250 points), Mypoints (have about 205 points), and Opinion Outpost (I have about 410 points). For the first two it seems as if I have a long way to go before I can do anything, but I can already get $41 dollars in the last one. Just worried because I have heard that once you reach a certain point you stop earning points. Suggestions?

Well, I can't say she's never seen the Muppets, but the last time she did see a show/movie, she was pretty young and doesn't remember it. So we'll be watching all kinds of Muppets this weekend since I have her and my nephew for the whole weekend! :woohoo: I have the menu already planned as well as some activities. So feel free to steal away!!!

I'm not doing anything to earn money, but would LOVE to! What are those sites about? It seemed like from what I read with MyPoints, you have to shop online -- which I'm OCD and hate buying online, because I have to touch items before I buy them (and I'm frugal and hate to pay for shipping). :confused3 I've never heard of the other sites.

I did Myrewards (not sure if this is the right name of it, it is the one promoted on here-disboards) before our March trip...yes, I stopped earning points after a certain point. It was very frustrating. I did end up getting $40 out of it, so that was $40 more than what I would have without doing it. You just have to look at it that way...any amount is that much more than you would have.

Mypoints- Yea it seems like you would get a lot more points if you are willing to buy on line. I haven't done this yet, but I might do some site to store at Walmart at Christmas time if they are offering points at that time.:confused3 You can earn points by reading emails they send (5 points each) or doing surveys (50 points if you get through, 10 points if you don't make the cut). You also get points if you invite friends and they except (so let me know if you want to joint) and you get points if they earn points spending on the internet. You redeem points for gift cards to diffrent places.

Just remembered there was a place where you could print coupons and earned points when you redemed the coupons.

Swag Bucks- You will occasionally get an email from them and watch a video or something for a couple of points, you can also watch some adds to get points, fill out surveys and such. It seems to be alot like mypoints and you can cash in your points for giftcards. I am looking at a $100 gift card to SouthWest but it takes alot of points.

Opinion Outpost- Now this is the one that I am doing the most. This is a site that you only fill out surveys. So far I have seen as little as 5 points for a survey and as much as 50 points for a survey. But it seems as if you are denied for more surveys then you are excepted. That being said I have already earned 410 points. Each point is ten cents so I have earned $41 dollars. You can take these points and transfer the money to your paypal account, but you have to have at least 100 points to cash in.

Hope this helps.:)

You are exactly right. ( I actually learned about some of them on your 1 year to save thread.) I was just wondering if people had some suggestions to maximize my earning potential. Plus how difficult was it to cash in?

It was not difficult to cash in. I used a paypal acct, then had it deposited it right into our checking account.

I just had to stop by to say... Corri - I loved your B&B theme - that turned out so cute!

Annnndddd.... I will be so sad if all of you go in May and I don't.

D~ <--- Who is off to a corner to pout now.

I'm still here, mostly lurking and catching up.

If you end up going back over a SWW, there was a greatSWW planning thread to follow for this year, and I'm sure there will be the one for next year within the next few months.

Your movie nights look like lots of fun for the kids!

I guess you will just have to come in May with the rest of us.::yes:: Your husband could watch the girls for a couple of days while you come and visit. I am sure I could find some room in my room for you.;) :rotfl2::lmao: Yea I know, the girls would probably be mad if you came to the world with out them.

thanx... yeah had issues this past few months they havent been good ones, i needed a happy distraction BIG TIME.. and really before the holidays started and all the stress that comes with them..so ive been trying to figure out what to do .. and it came to me i had thouse universal studios.. and i asked my friend instead of rushing and doing disney AND universal next year, if she wanted to take a week and go down for universal this year.. and of course she said yes.. so we got the days off work, and have been planning since.

it will be her first trip down there at all. we have our tickets of course, 4 day park to park Universal Studios, our hotel is booked BEst Western plus, its on the same road as universal.. we are driving down.. gas money is already taken care of.. so its basically just packing stuff we need to get, and food once we get there since we will have a fridge and microwave in our room, save us some money on food there... though i will insist on eating at Ponderosa at least once.. we dont have them here anymore and i love them so much.. the yummiest baked potatoes!!
its just 80 days till we go!! i cant wait! the wait is horrible.. the trip will be great! me and Dee are gonna have a blast. and after we get back from this trip, we will start saving/planning for our 2 week disney trip next year.. it will be her first time there as well..

Great start on your PTR! :thumbsup2

I love the movie nights! I will definitely have to try that to get the time to go by a bit faster.

Thank you so much for sharing! I look forward to reading more!
