I know there is not a height limit on the Haunted Mansion but would it be to scary for a two year old? Thank you.

The first time I went to WDW, i was 8 years old and I started crying on the Haunted Mansion because I was afraid. Next time I went (I believe I was 11) I didn't ride the ride at all. But by the time i was around 12, I rode it again and realized how funny it was! I'm generally scared of EVERYTHING, though, and I see many young children ride it who definitely do not have the same reaction that I did. If your 2 year old is usually scared of things, I'd say don't do it, but if they're not usually scared, I'd try taking them on it. :)

It definitely depends on how your child reacts to mildly frightening situations. Does he/she get scared of costumes on Halloween or cry if you turn out the light in a room? If so, you may want to wait a while.

I took all of my kids on Haunted Mansion when they were small, but they weren't easily frightened kids. I told them how funny the ghosts were before we entered the line, then made a point to point and laugh at some of the silly things to help them see the humor. If you are smiling and laughing, they are less likely to be afraid!

It depends on the kid. MY DS was 4 on his first trip and wasn't bothered by it at all. At just two years old, much of it may not be understood anyway, but you know your child better than anyone else.

It totally depends on your kid! Our last trip my little guy who was 2 (I think) wasn't really bothered at all, didn't really like the "stretching room", but I held him because it's crowded and dark and he didn't like the creepy voice, but he didn't mind the actual ride at all!

I agree with the others, it definitely depends on the kid. My son is 2 and had no problems with it. He loved the visual stimulation and looking all over at the different things.

Definitely depends on the child. When my ds was 3 (turned 3 only 2 months before our trip), he LOVED it - we must have rode HM 37 times on that trip. 4 years later when my dd was 3 (turned 3 only 3 months before our trip), we couldn't get her to go into HM for ANYTHING - the huge dark facade of the mansion was enough to make her decide it wasn't for her! At that age, she was terrified by Snow White and Pirates. I think the dark scared her more than anything. Totally depends on your child!

I've been letting both my kids (6 & 4) watch videos of the different rides online and talking about the parts that might be scary and how the 'effects' are done and such. Our trip isn't until October so I can't say for sure how they will do but they both seem more comfortable with the idea of scary rides after seeing the videos. I don't know how well that would work with a 2yo but you could give it a shot! :) Good Luck!!

Speaking from experience... when in doubt, don't do it. We took our son on a ride too early last year and he was scared of almost everything after that for the next 7 days. It's just not worth the risk, and a 2 yr old just isn't going to get much out of HM anyway, IMO.

Definitely depends on the child. I remember the first time we went to WDW, I was 8, one sister was 6 and the other was 4. Myself and my youngest sister were fine with the ride, wanted to go again. My other sister, who was 6, was terrified. I'm talking waking up with nightmares scared

I think it also depends on the child. My little one was 2 1/2 when we just went in June and she didn't cry while riding it but wanted to hold my hand. She asked a lot of questions while riding it and wanted to know, "Where we were going". I think if your child scares easily, you might want to skip it.

Our DS was barely 3 when we first took him on it, he didn't cry or seem bothered by any of it. I honestly think he was too young to realize it was supposed to be 'scary. At 5 he wouldn't go near it.

My son has been on it countless times since his first trip at 9 months old. On our last trip over Memorial Day (he's 3.5 now) at first he was acting all scared to go and even held my hand really hard during the ride. When we got off he even told me he was all scared but then not long after he wanted to go back on. So it not only depends on the child but sometimes even that child can be flakey lol

I took my 6 month old DS on it while in the Ergo, so no height limit! And my then 6 year old DD loved it. I don't think it's too scary, and will be taking DS on it in December at 18 months. :)

My daughter is 2 and she went on it in May with no problem whatsoever. Her 4 year old brother is in LOVE with anything scary and this was his "MUST DO" ride so I think she was just excited because he was so excited. She never once got scared on it.

I went on HM for the first time when I was 7. I was absolutely terrified and cried as I was getting off. But, the only reason I was scared was because I sat between my mom and dad and the hitch-hiking ghost was right on top of me - I couldn't handle that! I forced my family to go on IASW immediately after HM to cheer me up, which worked like a charm.

More than 10 years later, HM is now my favorite ride and I love going on it numerous times. Part of why I like it so much is because I was so afraid when I was younger, which made it more memorable. I can remember almost every single time I've gone on the ride because each ride was a different experience for me.

Of course each child is different. My brother and sister were both fine after riding, as are many children.

i dont thinkit would be scary for a 2 yr old the old part that migh be scary is in the waiting room area were the walls stretch

In 2009, I rode in a doom buggy with my SIL and her 2 year old. It was really funny, because my niece didn't cry, but Mommy tried to make it a happy ride.

"Oh, look! The bride is going to cut her cake with that ... axe." :rotfl:

Alot of kids have no problem with it no matter how young, it is a dark ride, so if your child is afraid of the dark, that alone may scare them.

My DNephew was terrified at 3.5 at DL last summer. He loves Halloween, vampires, the Nightmare Before Christmas so we thought that he'd love it. And in fact, he was the only one of the kids we took on the ride.

Well, the lightening and thunder in the stretchrooms scared him (I'd forgotten about it and didn't warn him). And he cried the whole time, poor guy (and poor DSister).

So, depends on the kid.... but do your homework so that you can explain what will happen.
