Haunted mansion

Just curious what movie is the haunted mansion based on a friend of mine said she was a little lost and I thought since I still have a few days maybe I'll go rent it.

The Haunted Mansion attraction isn't based on a movie, though there was a Disney movie that came out a few years ago called "The Haunted Mansion", which starred Eddie Murphy. "Haunted Mansion Holiday", the holiday overlay, uses characters and some of the "look" of the movie "Nightmare Before Christmas".

The Eddie Murphy movie is actually based on the ride, not the other way around. Just like the Pirates OTC. The rides came first.
