Haunted Mansion Music

Hey everyone. Well, I play the piano and the clarinet. Naturally, I like to learn how to play Disney songs. All of the songs I've learned have been sheet music.

I started listening to The Offical Album of the Disneyland Resort about a month ago. One of the songs is Grim, Grinning Ghosts, from the Haunted Mansion. I started humming it one day while playing the piano. Soon, I was trying to teach myself how to play it by listening to the song.

For awhile, there was one note I couldn't figure out. It was really starting to bug me. Today, while I was sitting at my piano, I started to try to play the song while listening to my iPod.

I finally figured out that note.

I can't play much of the song, just about 30 seconds of it.

I'm really sorry for this long post, I just needed to express my happiness.

I play trumpet and I love playing disney music also! I buy those trumpet books that have disney music and it comes with a CD to play with. I adore those. (Although I should be practicing my techniques more than songs )



Anyway... my absolute favorite Disney song to play is Pirates of the Caribbean. We're playing it in Marching Band this year

well...against my will (grrrrrr) i was signed up for piano this year. so far its ok, ive only had 3-4 classes though! but we just got back from paris disney, and i really wished i already played the piano, because they have the pirates piano music book there! i was like...man, when i get better at this, im soooo getting that music! lol

Heh, I have some many Disney books...lol. I don't try to figure songs out by ear (I don't have time lol), but I've found some excellent books! I bought one this year and it has park music (not Disney movie songs). I've been trying to get Grim Grinning Ghosts down. lol. after 15 years of playing the piano, I wouldn't enjoy playing any other music type such as I do Disney! LOL. I love listening to the Disney music...makes me "home"sick! lol.

I like those songs. Heck, I got "Yo Ho, A Pirate's Life For Me" memorized. Plus, I play drums, so I don't need to learn the music.

I always get "home" sick whenever I listen to Soarin'. Gosh, right now I'm listening to it, and I'm about to cry because I miss Disney!

Soarin' is one of those song that'll do that to you! I've tried to limit my Disney music intake lately lol...I have to wait a year before I'm going back and I simply couldn't take the over-excitement right now heh.
