Haunted Mansion holiday overlay removal in Feb?

I saw that the calendar was up for Feb 2006. It shows Haunted Mansion being closed for holiday overlay removal in late Feb. Is this true?

That seems so late for this stuff to be coming down. I will be bummed to miss out on this ride. I was hoping my kids would be braver this year and might enjoy it more.

Anyone know?

I had heard it is running until January 16th this year. I assume it would go down for removal right after that.

***Edited to add...I just went and did some more research. It looks like the removal starts on 1/18. It must last through February.

According to www.RideRefurbs.com the haunted mansion will be going down January 18th and opening back up March 5. I think the disneyland calendar is confirming this as well.

If the Haunted Mansion is supposed to be down longer than a few weeks in January, it's for more than just the Haunted Mansion Holiday removal. It sounds like an extended refurb, and hopefully with that extended down time a lot of work will be done .. and maybe further new enhancements added like were done earlier this year. The floating Leota and the lightning-flash changing portaits are both incredible and welcome changes to the classic attraction, IMO.

I made some inquiries and the word I got is mechanical and ADA accessability refurb, and resurfacing the floor in the attic.

My source is knowledgable, but unofficial.
