Haunted Mansion Ghosts

Forgive me if this is a question I should all ready know the answer to, but When I'm collecting credits at HM there seems to be some debate in the rooms as to what we should be doing to attract ghosts. Some say move, others stand still, and others who say they are on timers. Which is the truth?

I'm fairly certain they are on a random timer.

I think they are on a random timer but normally when I say the ghosts name they come. But i'm sure its just random.

I've always thought that they were on a timer also, but I saw another Player suggest that if you walk over the spot the Ghosts were previously occupying, that they will reappear. Might just be coincidence, but the two times that I was able to do this (Ezra and Gus), it actually worked. Worth a try anyway if you "just" missed them?!!

Yes, this is true I was there also.

I would say timer. I've seen people calling the ghost, walking, dancing and standing still and it would just go on forever. The first ghost seems to take the longest to show up.

I think it's just random.

I've tried moving around and tried standing still.
I've tried calling their names and just being quiet.

I've even once spent 15 minutes in a room waiting for one of them.

So, I really don't know the answer.

I think last night I waited for 2-3 minutes for Ezra to come out and the whole time either dancing or walking around and he still didn't come out. I finally gave up with the moving and he came out then.

Yes, this is true I was there also.

I was just commenting on what the host said. I do not believe it has anything to do with our actions either.

I tried this today and it worked.!!!! Not sure if it works every time - but I thought I'd mention it

This works for me three out of five times.

I've researched this* and have come to this conclusion regarding Phineas in the first room.

as soon as there are 6 to 7 people blocking the exit, at least two of them with a trade window up and the rest arguing about moving, not moving, talking, not talking, cookies vs cake and at least one person complaining about being bored, so not only is the exit blocked but you can't even see the exit because of all the chat bubbles, Phineas will appear
