Haunted Houses, Scare Zones, a Candy Factory, Monsters, Goblins, Candy Apples and more. Is there a Quiet Place? My HHN 33 trip.

I love, Love the little Boo collections. I hope they don't stop selling these items right after HHN. We will be there on the last day so we should be good. I just have to remember to buy them.
They have all the Little Boo merchandise in the Big Universal Store at CityWalk and in the parks so you should be good. You might catch the merchandise when they start marking it down after Halloween.

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 8TH CONTINUED

I really liked the Little Boo cups so will need to swing by again and pick up a few things for Little J’s upcoming birthday and replace my favorite HHN cup I recently broke.

There were some cute wristlet Little Boo bags and even towels.

I keep telling my sister I hope the TM who carved Little Boo a few years ago is getting a nice bonus for the cute pumpkin she carved. It has generated a big merchandise following for HHN.

After leaving the store I wondered over to the store that used to house the Legacy Store. It has now been turned into a preview store for the upcoming Epic Universe Park.

There is an Architectual Scaled model of the park which is very impressive. I went in the store when I visited in in June and there are always folks in there looking at the Model and buying some of the merchandise that will be in the park. It has generated quite the buzz.

There will be 5 separate parks with Celestial Park being the center attraction and the other parks Super Nintendo World, Dark Universe, The Ministry of Magic and How to Train your Dragon Isle of Berk each leading off of Celestial Park.

These little Dragon backpacks were cute. There is a nice sampling of merchandise for each of the parks available to wet your appetite until the park opens.
IMG_1023.jpeg

This is a photo of the big roller coaster that will be part of Celestial Park. It looks massive.
IMG_1021.jpeg

Epic Universe is going to be something to see in person when it is finished.

After I left the preview store I headed over to Islands of Adventure. It was not busy and getting through was quick.

I walked through the Island Trading Store to see if there was any new merchandise.

These bubble toys were new from my last visit in June.
IMG_1024.jpeg

The Pumpkin Juice sippers are cute and have been around for awhile.
IMG_1027.jpeg

The Bertie Bott’s every flavor jelly beans have been around from the opening of Hogsmeade and are still very popular,

IMG_1028.jpeg

These animatronic Snowy Owl shoulder Owl’s were very popular when they came out a few months ago and are still selling very well. According to the TM in the store they all have their on personality.

I have seen a few up close that people have on their shoulders and they are cute.

I always like to have a look in the Christmas Store while I’am walking in IOA. It is a beautiful Store to walk through and if you are looking for things to decorate your home for Christmas you will find them here.

IMG_1033.jpeg

My sister K is a big Grinch fan and she has a lot of Grinch decorations she puts out for Christmas. I have added to her collection from this store and the stores at Seuss Landing.
IMG_1034.jpeg

IMG_1035.jpeg

For the Potter Fans there are plenty of Christmas decorations now.

There is lots of HoneyDukes merch also.

This beautiful Hogwarts Tree has a Hogwarts Emblem on one side and a Quidditch display on the other side.

IMG_1045.jpeg

IMG_1044.jpeg

After I left the Christmas Store it was time to visit Suess Landing
IMG_1046.jpeg

One cannot visit Seuss Landing without riding the Cat in the Hat. It was hot and humid out and this ride is nice and cool respite from the heat too.
IMG_1047.jpeg

IMG_1048.jpeg

After riding the Cat in the Hat I did a little wonder around.
IMG_1049.jpeg

I love the cute sculpted plantings they have on display.

Guess who was out for photos. It is so nice that Univesal makes sure to have plenty of characters out for photo opportunities for folks who want them.

IMG_1052.jpeg

Another fun Planted character
IMG_1053.jpeg

I was still on the look out for fun things for little J’s upcoming birthday. I have purchased some fun things for him from this store before.

Next up my visit to the Lost Continent and the All Hallows Eve Boutique.

After I was done looking around Seuss Landing I made my way over to the Lost Continent.

For those that are longtime Universal Fans you will remember Poseidon's Fury show which has closed. Also a few years ago there used be a stunt show called The Eighth Voyage of Sindbad in the Lost Continent.

Mytho’s restaurant is still in operation. I have had hit or miss meals in there over the years. It is a nice restaurant to pop in for a meal and a good cool down during a hot summers day in the park.
IMG_1060.jpeg

My plans were to visit the All Hallow’s Eve Boutique. Universal started this boutique as a nice addition to Halloween in IOA. I have enjoyed stopping by and looking at the wonderful Halloween decorations.

This year it has been renamed the All Hallow’s Eve Boardwalk Boutique.
IMG_1063.jpeg

It has a very carnival like theme.
IMG_1065.jpeg

This was an interesting T-shirt that was for sale that has UV ink that changes colors in the sun. First one of these I have ever seen for sale.
IMG_1067.jpeg

I have seen a lot of these Mel’s Di in T-shirts that glow in the dark.
IMG_1068.jpeg

And of course a mixed Lil Boo shirt.

Lots of Little Boo merchandise on display and a Little Boo hat I had not seen before. One of the things that has been a really hot item is the magnetic Little Boo that sits on your shoulder. They were out of those and now they have restocked them at the various stores.
IMG_1076.jpeg

More Little Boo pillows.

I always enjoy the ride over to Universal Studios on the Hogwarts Express. You need a Park to Park ticket to ride the Hogwarts Express between IOA and Universal Studios. The film presentation in the car is different depending on which direction you are going on the train.

IMG_1107.jpeg

I always enjoy the first step into the streets of Diagon Alley. Seeing the Dragon atop Gringott’s Bank is magical.
IMG_1108.jpeg

A quick walk through Knockturn Alley for a little cool off.
IMG_1109.jpeg

Then out of Diagon Alley and the trek over to the Tribute Store. It had rained while I was in Diagon Alley and it was still sprinkling when as I continued by walk to the Tribute Store.

I had a good look at all the technical equipment in the water over the Lagoon that goes into showing the display for the water and light show.
IMG_1110.jpeg

WOW…..the outside of the Tribute Store looks like the outside of a graffiti spray painted train car :scratchin There were parade security lines out in front for the Mega Movie parade which had been canceled because of the rain.

The best way I can describe the inside design of the Tribute Store is Graffiti/Underground Subway/Carnival/Survivalist/1980’s.

I’am still scratching my head a little now that I have had a number of days to let the Tribute Store design sink in. I have to admit this is one of my least favorite Tribute Store designs in all the years it has been presented. There was a lot of spray painted graffiti on the walls and there seemed to be no cohesive design story as in past Tribute Stores.

Following along patiently, Robo. Thanks for the overview of the scare houses. My son and I are signed up on 11/3 for the daytime tour of houses. That's our first full day at Universal. Always enjoy your trip reports:)
Ruth I’am so glad to have you along for the report.

You will really enjoy the daytime tour of the houses. Are you taking the 3 house or the 6 house tour?

Lovely start to your new TR!

I'm rather disgruntled they've nixed the photo op @ CB. It was a lot of fun and think it helped create exposure for the resort from those who had never visited it
Thank you Janet.

Yes, was a bummer that the display at CB was nixed this year.

lol they remind me of old school waitress uniforms.

Do like the frank minion. Think there is a popcorn bucket too if not already sold out ? repurposed displays in citi walk
The dresses fill like they are made of a thin wool material. Not something that would be comfortable in the heat and humidity of Orlando.

I did see a lady wearing one while in the park one day.

Your pictures and posts are fabulous!
Eagerly waiting to read more of your report.
Thank you Mac.

I remember the Guide on the UMH Tour last year telling us that once the Creative Directors have decided what the houses will be for HHN. The Design Team then goes to the massive Prop warehouse offsite and has 1 week to pick out the props for the houses about 2 weeks before HHN starts.

Seeing the houses on daylight Tour really helps to make you understand the massive job it is for the Creative Team and the Designers to pick the IP and Original houses then to make them come alive.

We were told that the Creative Directors are already working on coming up with ideas for the next years houses while the current year of HHN is happening.

I remember this train prop from the Descendants of Destruction House in 2022. I enjoy seeing how the designers incorporate previous props into new designs.

This last room of the Tribute Store looked like an abandon Subway that had been overtaken by vegetation. I’am guessing some of this vegetation was from the “Seeds of Extinction” house which was from 2018. It appears to have become the domain of some sort of Vampire creature.
