Hate to ask but where is the best place to sit for a good view of fantasmic?

I hate to ask this because I'm positive it has been asked before, I searched and searched and could only find people talking about seating for the dessert buffet.

We will not be doing the dessert buffet because I'd rather be up close to the action, I like to feel the spray of the water misting my face, the heat from the flames. Well you get the idea oh and it's cheaper :)

My plan is to see the second show so I don't have to wait for a long time, I'd like to slither in as the show ends and take someone's spot as they are leaving, so please tell me where to find the best place (I'm going to have first timers with me so I want them to be able to see the show without a pillar in their face if that's possible).

In the center, of course. To figure out just where that is, look at the light towers--you want to be near the middle one. if you're facing the water, the middle tower should be just slightly to your left (behind you, of course because you'll be going for the front section). That puts you pretty much dead on center. Another clue is that there are two light posts on the fence around the water (well, they're all around the water, but the two that would put you in the right area--still keep the middle light tower in mind)--be between those two light posts and you're good. If you can firgure out where the techs sit (to the left of the middle tower), be in front of them.

Thanks Jen - sounds good. So I'll want to be in the front section then, that's a sitting area right?

Yep, you'll be stting on the ground--you might want to bring a blanket or beach towel to sit on.

We did the buffet, but we saw lots of blankets (thick ones) and one might have had an air mattress.

Too bad they didn't have room for it at DCL with a nice stadium.

Keep in mind that there are two locations for the dessert buffet...one (at least for now) on the Disney Gallery balcony and the other riverside (where you can feel the spray, the heat, etc.). Riverside is slightly cheaper than balcony and it can seat more guests.

We did riverside and I didn't like it. People behind us complained the whole show because they couldn't see and they ended up leaving, I was sitting right behind a pillar and we were the first to check in and we asked where the best seats were and that's where we were put. Also the desserts weren't very good, so we just want to sit somewhere for free this year.

Gallery closed on the 7th and the riverside is just as expensive. I have heard that the riverside seating has expanded after the gallery closed. I hate to sit and waste time holding a spot for F.

I booked Riverside yesterday for Sept 8 at 9 pm. The price seems like it went up to me - it was like $56 or $58 each? Anyway, the CM did say they doubled the seats since the balcony is closed, there are two separate locations and groups of seats. She tried to explain the proximity of both locations, but I think we will have to actually "see" the seats before deciding where to sit. I asked which section was better and she said neither one was better than the other, just a different view. I don't know if she was just be politically correct or had no clue. She said to check in at 7 pm and select your seats. Then come back at 8:40 for the show. We did the balcony three years ago and are looking forward to the Riverside seats. :) Anyway, not trying to hijack your thread, but maybe look for the reserved seating and sit just to the right (more towards the center). That would be my advice.

To avoid the crowds, exiting from the first fantasmic show, you could catch the train, to New Orleans, and work your way down to the front of Pirates. Most people will go the other way up towards Main Street to grab a seat for the fireworks.
