Hassle to obtain Hertz rental car?

DH and I got the best rate with National and of course, it's on site; however, through his employment, he has enough credits to use towards a rental car (fullsize) with Hertz. Because of this, we will most likely use them and save our own $$$.
How much of a hassle is it to get from MCO to Hertz since it is off-site? Has anyone had any good or bad experiences? How long does it take to get a shuttle to Hertz and how long are the lines to wait in? Any help is much appreciated - thanks!!!

I use Hertz in Orlando since my corporate rate is generally better then the normal rate.

The shuttle buses are great and run constantly. I have never waited on a bus and the normal wait for the bus to leave either the airport and/or Hertz is less then 5 minutes.

Does your husband have the Gold Card? I have used my gold with free rentals before. You just pick up the car with your name on it and give them the certificate when you return. (When you reserve it will tell you if you have to go to the counter, mine never has.)

I am not sure of the lines since I have only done gold. I have had to go into the Gold booth to make changes and it was painless.

Hertz is wonderful!!! The shuttle is always waiting outside so there is never a wait.

There was a thread about this several weeks ago and many commented on their good experience with Hertz at MCO.

When departing MCO do curbside check in before you return the car. Then you don't have to lug the suitcases on the shuttle. I do this all the time with no problems.

Hertz in Orlando is terrific. I've rented there many times. The shuttles are almost always waiting right outside baggage claim and fortunately, I've never had to wait for one. The drive is not that long.

I highly recommend the Gold service -- avoid the lines, pick up your car and drive away. It's wonderful!

Returns are easy to do. They seem to always have a shuttle waiting to take you back to MCO.

NO HASSLE at all.

Just get off the plane go out to the curb, get on the shuttle and you will be there in 5-10 minutes. Getting out of the lot and returning is a breeze.

Renting Hertz at MCO is a non-issue!!!

Hertz is great! We rented form them last year and it was quicker than our Dollar rental in 2001 which was in the airport. Very efficient and friendly.

We've gotten Hertz a few times via Priceline. At first I was worried, but not anymore! The shuttle bus has literally always been right there waiting, or else in the process of pulling up. Typically we're getting in our car without 15 minutes, including the shuttle time. At peak times, the longest it's taken has been 45 minutes. We've gotten some nice upgrades, too, as we always rent a cheapie, and they're not really pushy on the insurance.

Thanks so much for the great advice - we are going with Hertz!!! We were able to qualify for $200 in credits through my husband's employment so we only have to pay out of pocket for $104.00 which includes a full size rental for 11 1/2 days - not bad huh? Thanks so much!!

I LOVE THESE BOARDS!!! :jumping1:
