My last thread caused me to remember another time when SO and I were out to dinner with the very same couple. We were at an On the Border restaurant and were harassing our waitor pretty badly (but in a good way). He was great and we talked to him for a long time (even suggesting he pull up a chair to sit with us, he couldn't) and met his fiance (who also worked there). We talked about all kinds of stuff, their wedding, honeymoon, school, etc.... My friend even got the fiance's number to call her for a babysitter (that is how nice and friendly they were), anyways back to my point. As we were leaving the restaurant (to go across the street to a movie theater) our friend (the wife) says "That is the most fun I have had with a white person in a long time." (or at least that is what I thought she said) Confused I said back to her "Do you usually have fun with not white people?" (I wasn't being sarcastic, I was confused). For awhile we were all like what? Until they realized that what I thought her saying was white person was really her saying wait person as in waitor. Boy did I feel sheepish! :o

The same thing happened to my SIL. When I was dating her brother. You have to know first off I have a southern accent and I told his mom and sis that at first he was too quite. I didn't know it at the time but she thought I had said too white. LOL :D They still pick on me about that one.:D
