Has this happened to anyone with Spirit Air or another airline

I booked a flight in the fall for April out of LGA on Spirit Airlines. I purchased it online because they had a feature allowing online customers to book seats in January for this flight. When I tried to do just that, I couldn't get into the system at all. I called them and they explained that they had to postpone the departure time by fifteen minutes and, as a result, no online seat assignments could be made for this flight.

Can anyone explain this to me? Is this frequent with them? Common among airlines?

I made our reservations early so that I could book seats for the 5 of us together - then they switched the return flight time, deleted our seat selection and we cannot rebook them until the morning of the flight. I have made numerous phone calls - doesn't make sense to me, except that this is very poor customer service and they need to fix this situation - first they inconvenience you with a change in flight time (with no compensation, of course!) , then they inconvenience you again by not being able to select seating.:mad:

We'll see what happens when we get to the gate - I'm hoping for the best (which is what I had originally!).

i'm glad to see i'm not crazy to wonder about this.

now, the question is -- what can we do about this, if anything? You'd think by now they'd have worked out this problem. or -- may be that explains how come the airfare was cheaper....

I hope you have an easy time with this situation on the day of your flight (fast approaching, I see).
