has the DDP ever raised price mid-year before?

With some of the restaurants taking significant price hikes right now, there was speculation (unfounded except by cynicism about Disney and their ability to separate people from their money) that there could potentially be a mid-year price increase on DDP. As far as I know, once they set the terms for the year that's it. What do other people remember?

Not that I can do anything to stop it. Will be adding DxDDP to my split stay hopefully around June. Would like for my budget numbers to hold!

Yes. I can't remember if it was 2015 or 2014 but it was raised in February or June. I think it's normally raised in June when package pricing comes out for the following year, but there was one year it increased for the current year for bookings after a certain date.

I hope June! by then I'll have it added and paid for ;)

I'm doing DVC and looking to do a split stay and can't book other resort til 7 months out, which is around may. At that point when I have a stay with only 3 nights I can add DDP but not before.

I thought there was already an increase for 2016. DxDDP was $109.53 for adults and $29.86 for kids in 2014 and 2015, for 2016 it is $111.73 and $32.56. I believe that kicked in when the 2016 plan kicked in. But not 100% sure on timing.

The price for DVC members would not increase, that price is set annually. If they raise the price mid-year you will still pay the current prices for a 2016 trip.

I want to LOVE this like I LOVE on facebook lol. You just made my day!

We are going home to BCV the end of Oct and we just got the DxDP last week paid in full. But it is good to know that DVC will not raise it as well. I

i have been trying to pay for my trip with rewards as much as possible and currently have enough on a disney gift card to pay for the DxDDP for first three nights of a planned split stay. BUT i can't split my stay until the 7 month window opens up. AND I am planning to book the week before and walk my reservation forward to try to get the 3 days I want at the poly. And as long as I am holding both reservations I might as well hold them a little bit longer until my 180+10 dining window opens up and then cancel all of the days I don't need once I'm past 180 days. It would be annoying if there was a DDP price increase during all of this because I can't book it until my first reservation is shrunk to 3 nights. But now I won't be anxious about that happening. Not that it would likely be huge but still annoying :)

I would agree that would give you more worry and it would be more hectic. We have BCV and were thinking of getting AKL because we like the 11 month window. I try to get the dining plan done as soon as I can so that part of the trip is over and done with . last time we had to wait till we were about 30 days out and I was going insane. We just started using the plan a few years ago and love it . and I was worried about the raising of prices but that made me feel more relaxed now..

Dining Plan prices were raised this morning...

Quick Service $44.13/$19.04
Dining Plan $63.70/$22.85
Deluxe $115.08/$35.49

It does look like the dining plan prices on the DVC member services website have stayed the same. If anyone cares :)

Probably not updated yet.
it was stated earlier that the price for DVC is set annually. I guess we will see if that is true!

I can still buy a DVC 25th anniversary parkhopper ticket for nearly $54 less than on the disney website as they held old pricing for that but that promo is over at the end of the month.

Do you know if this counts for people renting DVC points? I suspect that it does not....

It does. When you rent points, the member is making a reservation on your behalf. You pay the same price for DDP that the member would.
