Has Starring Rolls changed?

I was only at Starring Rolls once a few years ago, and I seem to recall it being called a bakery. I remember a bakery type setup inside with outdoor seating. Now I see that it is called Starring Rolls Cafe. Has it changed its setup in any way? I'm doubting myself because maybe it has always been called a cafe.

Trivial question, to be sure. Just curious though.

It now has sandwiches and salads along with the bakery items. That may be way they added "cafe" to the name. According to my Dsis, it also has really good coffee.

I've been staying away from that place because I always see the Public Works folks outside it. What are they doing in there that is always causing problems for the city?

We have had a sandwich there several times, and always delicious. One of our favorite hidden gems! We have had turkey or ham on foccacia bread with shredded lettuce. They give you a giant slice out of a big round sandwich with a bag of chips. Always fresh, they start bringing the sandwiches out around 11:30. They close early though, so don't plan on them for a dinner sandwich. Haven't been there in a year, so things could have changed.

Maybe the problems are caused by the Villains store next door and Starring Rolls is just in a bad location.

I've seen a few good comments about the sandwiches now - might have to give them a try - Lord knows there aren't many other good options in DHS...

Except for the addition of sandwiches, it's the same food. We love eating there, it's one of the few constants of our trips.

Ummm... the streetmosphere Public Works? Yeah, I guess I'd be worried if I saw them too close too. They're not the best at 'fixing' things are they?

I have definitely gotten the Grapefruit Cake to go at Starring Roles. It is sooooo yummy!

Starring Rolls used to offer handmade specialty chocolates & truffles. Sigh.

The smoked salmon/pastrami salmon with bagel, cream cheese, and fixins is still a really good deal, though!

Make sure you tell them that you want the Grapefruit cake and that they are supposed to go and get it from the Brown Derby. I went in and requested in on our last trip and none of the cast members knew what I was talking about. I was so dissapointed. But now I know the trick.

Also they have the biggest and best chocolate chip cookies! Even better than Main Street.

Thanks, everyone! Sounds like it is still a counter service with nothing different except the addition of sandwiches & salads. With the name "cafe", I was almost wondering if it had become a small table service place sort of like the Plaza at MK.

Nice lunch possibility for our next trip!

No, they sure aren't!

And that reminds me. I've got to see my doctor about that chemical they sprayed on me last time I was walking by there. I know the other chemical was supposed to neutralize the first one, but you can't be too careful!

We had a late lunch there. So they also got PB & J, I got a yummy ham & Turkey sandwhich i forgot what my dh got plus we got a dessert. Oooo i still dream about that cinn roll lol.hehe
