Has anything you have heard on the news affected your dreams?

I had a very disturbing dream last night. A couple of weeks ago, a woman kidnapped her 1 year old niece, and then left her at a store in CT. Just left her to wander around. She then went on the lam, but they arrested her a few days ago, in PA.

Last night, I had a dream that this woman was bailed out of jail by her sister (the baby's mom) and was allowed to stay with them. She then set the baby crib on fire and killed her.

It was horrifying and beyond disturbing. These people are complete and total strangers to me, so why are they invading my dreams and causing me to have a nighmare like this???

We dream about what we think about. If it's even in your subconcious mind it will show up in a dream.

Oh, I know. That story was horrible. She actually dropped her off in the Aetna parking lot in Middletown. My mother works there and saw all the commotion as she was leaving work that day. Didn't realize what was going on till I told her about what I had seen on the news. It was cold that day also and the poor baby was crawling around in the parking lot, soaking wet from her diaper.


To answer your question though, yes, the news has affected my dreams before. You see lots of stuff throughout the day that just stays in your subconscious and then when you dream it just gets thrown in there. Sometimes it's not a big deal, but when it is ends up being like yours it is a horrible feeling. Not much you can do about it. I bet if you really thought about it and remembered all of your dreams you would probably be amazed at the stuff that is in there from things you had originally experienced and seen.
