Has anyone waitlisted for Christmas week?

I know we are totally crazy. We would never usually consider going during the Christmas break as I can't even imagine the crowds. But my husband has off from work that week and we thought it would be fun to drive down the day after christmas. Anyway, of course everything is booked up during this period and probably has been for some time. We're waitlisted for any of the DVC resorts. Has anyone had any luck with this? I would think our chances are pretty slim, but we're giving it a try anyway.

I rented a 2 bed at OKW to someone and they are waitlisted for a 2bed at BWV Dec 19 -25 for many many months hasn't come through I myself will be in a studio at BWV dec 28-jan 4 canceled jan 5 &6 the other day

Im going, Dec 24-Jan 3 was on a waitlist, got my full ressie mid oct for a studio OKW. am I crazy to go that time of the year? never have been then.

Hi Vals!

It's a big step for us to go during a Peak season. For as many times as we've been to Disney, we've always gone in the off season, so I think this will be a bit of a shock to us compared to what we're used to. But hey, If we're crazy, then so is everyone else going during that time. LOL I just think it will require some good planning to make the best use of our time. Since we go frequently, we won't feel the need to see or do it all.

My suggestion would be to book a "back-up" somewhere if possible. Then wait list "day by day" and piece together a trip. Your chances of getting quite a few of the nights are very good. New Year's Eve will be the toughest -- especially since it's a weekend this year.

It is absolutely crazy but I think everyone should go at least once. You may find you love it (I do) or that once was enough. Keep in mind that it can get chilly to really cold (especially at night). Try to go with the flow and enjoy the special holiday entertainment rather than getting on the rides (long lines).

We went last Dec. 28-Jan 3rd and yes we found it very busy. Take advantage of early entry, we had awesome luck w/ this. We would leave the parks around noon and swim the rest of the day. It was 80 and sunny every day.

This year we are going the week before x-mas.
