We have a brochure from a national company called "The Pros", a national company that offers photography, videography, and DJ services for weddings. Their prices are great, so that makes me leery. Does anyone have any experience or input about this compnay? Is it any good?

I've heard of them- the reviews are mixed. I went with a local photog because things were more personalized and I could customize my packages. The PRO's back when I got married (2002) only offered packages with 8x10's and no albums.

I'd definitely check the knot and theweddingchannel.com for recent reviews.

I've heard of them and they've been around for a long time. 20 years? But don't know anyone who's used them.

I did look into them and they had good prices but i landed up with someone else. sorry im not any help but good luck and best wishes

YES! We used them for our wedding back in 11/04. We were "assigned" one of their "professional" dj's prior to the wedding. Bottom line: they stunk. I thought things were a little "iffy" to begin with... we had to fill out paperwork about our favorite songs, etc (which I'm sure is pretty standard with most dj's), and send it back to them a couple of weeks before the wedding. Our DJ was then supposed to contact us by phone. WEEKS went by... no call. I called, left messages for our dj, sent email... FINALLY he got into touch with us to let us know he had all the songs we had requested/ and to talk a little further with us about all the ins and outs. Wedding day arrives... smack in the middle of the reception he approaches DH and I to let us know that "oops!" he just broke the cd he had with our cake cutting song on it. He actually walked up to us WHILE WE WERE DANCING to not only tell us, but also to show us the broken cd. He was a little odd.... to say the least. At the time I was ticked!... when you're hosting a wedding reception, you want everything to be pretty perfect, right? He also left a couple of long (30 second??) awkward pauses (without music) about 4 or 5 times that just made me wonder why he worked for a company called "THE PROS". ;) After we got back from our honeymoon we also found out from more than one person that he was refusing to play quite a few requested songs... but was being downright rude about it to them. DH and I wrote a letter of complaint... and now that I think of it, never received anything back:confused3 In all seriousness, I wouldn't reccommend them- although they could be better depending on what dj you got.

Back in the 90's (when I regretted selling off my turntables and speakers), I kept seeing their commercials on the DC stations. The DJ's they showed look so un hip that I doubted they'd be good. It made me think I should get back in the biz. (The guys at the wedding I attended this past March also made me think I should get back in the biz, lol)

Then I met a couple of people who worked for them and I heard HORROR stories. Stories like not being given directions to the place where they'd be working, nor a phone number and getting hopelessly lost. :scared1: Can you imagine your dj not showing up for your wedding?

Thanks for the feedback. I did a little net search and found a few other nasty reviews. Just wanted to confirm my suspicions that they were too good to be true. Thanks!

I did use them back in 1991. If I remember, I used their DJ. He was good. No complaints. But then again that was a really long time ago!

We used them for our wedding and reception back in 1997. We were pleased with the pictures and the DJ was great. The videographer was OK, but I was a little miffed that he brought his wife along to the reception and we ended up having to feed her :confused3 . We also got all of our proofs included in the package, along with about 125 8x10s and an album. We went to a bridal show and one of the presentations was by the Pros. They had a number of DJs, photographers and videographers there that you cold speak to and see there work. We ended up choosing our DJ and photographer there, but weren't thrilled with the videographers they had there that day. I will say that they drove over an hour and a half to get from their location (where we lived) to our wedding site (where I grew up). There was no extra charge and everyone was there early to get set up. Overall we were pleased with what we got, especially the DJ.

NO NO NO!!!! I used them after my girlfriend did and my experience was absolutely horrific. My photographer was an hour late to my parents house, no phone call, nothing. He got lost but didn't call! His wife showed up and was rude beyond anything. My girlfriend went to bat and the stupid wife said "Well when we are on time the bride is usually not ready." I was livid. I don't care if I'm in my underwear you are contracted to be there and on time or at least phone us to let us know of any issues. She came to the reception, danced to most of the songs and is in a ton of my pics. Yuck!!

My DJ was not very good either. He had all my songs no problem but did not engage the guests at all and many slow points on the dance floor.

Now my videographer was great. He did what he was supposed to do and there were no issues there.

My girlfriend who used them for her wedding had great services. Her DJ was excellent and even though the photographer was a little sleezy looking he took great pictures. Great wedding video for her as well.

But neither of us would recommend them again~

I haven't heard of them, but it is good you are checking around.

I steered clear of businesses that did the "one stop shop" for services like that. After seeing some of one local company's work at a wedding show--it was clear they were in it for quick money, but the quality just wasn't there. I think in that case, the DJ did all of that and of course that just isn't fully possible.

I would want to know the credentials of all the key players for the services they offer and review their portfolio thoroughly to make sure qualified individuals are performing the services and aren't something like the bozo I encountered at the wedding show who thought he was the cat's meow and Superweddingman all at the same time.
