Sorry if this has been asked/answered already. I did a quick search and didn't find many posts about the registry.

We are honeymooning at Disney from Sept. 13-19 and are thinking about doing the registry thing. We already have a house and all the normal stuff people might register for - possibly because we are 37 and 38 ;) - so we thought the honeymoon registry was a nice idea to give people gift options.

But, I have a friend that just did a registry for her honeymoon in Mexico and it was a nightmare for them to actually do or purchase any of the stuff on there. Like the registry had an option for "artwork from our honeymoon" for $100, which someone purchased for them. But all the actual artwork for sale at their resort started at $300.

So, I'm just curious if anyone has used the Disney registry for their honeymoon, if guests liked the idea, and if it was easy to actually use the funds once you got to Disney?

Thanks!

I just asked this question a few days age :)
Basically you get a card, and the card has the money on it. It doesnt mean that because someone bought you product A you have to buy product A. It just places all the money on there!
HTH

We used it and I really liked it. You can buy whatever you want... just because someone buys you a dinner you don't have to use the money towards the dinner if you don't want. It's just like a disney gift card.

Did you have any problems using the card around the parks or was everything easy peasy?

No it was easy..no problems at all.

You can also make the charges normally to your room, and afterwards pay towards the balance with the Registry Gift Card. We did this and had absolutely no problem.

Isn't it a little misleading to have guests think they are paying for a certain dinner when really they are just giving you cash to anything? Or does it not really matter? That just seems odd...:confused3

You can always choose to get what the guests originally intended to give you.

I love the whole idea of the registry, and registered just so I could add money to it myself a little at a time, kind of like a "savings account". My only problem is the dog-gone website!! It's so persnickity and you really have to manuver around it right to be able to view what you want! :confused3

We used it and loved it. You aren't tied to what you registered for. It's more like a giftcard.

Here's the thng. For the guest that wants to just give you money this reg is great. It's not deceitful; we had a couple of places on there that we didn't end up going to due to time so we just used it at another restaurant.
