Has anyone used one of these to increase fuel economy?

Since fuel prices are just getting higher and higher, we here in the office have been discussing ways to get better fuel economy. Some topics include decreasing speed to 55, making sure tire pressure is correct, or tuning up the car.

While searching on the web for a savings calculator based on decrease of speed (never did find this), I ran across these: FuelMiser and FuelMaster .

I was wondering if any of you have heard of these products? Used these products? Have opinions good or bad. My boss is interested since he has a V-8 F150 and drives at least 68 miles a day and is paying big $ to fill up every 4-5 days. :(

Thanks!

I'll try and find the article, but from what I have read, these products do not improve mileage. The same thing goes for the Tornado as well.

Most, if not all of the car enthusiast boards will tell you that every one of these products are useless. If you really think about the crackdown placed on manufacturers for fuel economy standards, son't you think that a $10 or $20 device would be part of their design. These things are nothing more than creative marketing schemes that "play" to a person's "common sense". They make it sound like it makes sense, but there is no engineering involved whatsoever.

edit: Also, if he wants to get an answer on his truck he can go straight to the horses mouth...the guys over at www.f150online.com are very knowledgeable and for the most part very friendly too..

YES , these items do work. They separate people and their hard earned money very efficiently. That is about all they accomplish.

We didn't think so...looked too much like a "miracle drug" in which case everyone would have one.

Thanks all for your input and thanks to ToyStory Fan. I forwarded that F150 link to my boss.

:teeth: :teeth: Very True.

The BEST way to improve your fuel economy is Slow Down . I tend to have a heavy foot and since these gas price increases I have tried very hard to keep my speed around 55 and I've already begun to notice the difference in my MPG. And that's even with the A/C on.
