Has anyone used ME at Christmas time?

Was the wait long? We've never had any trouble with ME, but we could rent a car this time. We arrive on Christmas in the evening and depart Jan. 1st in the afternoon. Is it worth it to have the car for all the parks except MK that week due to the swarms of people?

We were there Dec. 27 - Jan. 6, 2008. We took ME on the way down. There was a line at ME check-in but it moved along pretty well. We got a car the next day to use for groceries and church and shopping. We did not drive to parks like we usually do because it was so crowded. It was easier to use Disney transportation. We took the car back to the airport rather than riding ME so we wouldn't have to leave quite as early. By Jan. 6 the Xmas crowds were pretty much gone and the marathon folks were beginning to arrive.

I just came here to post this exact question. Contemplating using DME during Christmas week this year, but am hesitant. We arrive on 12/26. Saw a huge line for DME when we arrived at MCO on 12/26 in 2007 and was glad we hired a towncar. Not sure about the return. Would too like to hear experinces of others.
