Has anyone tried the new foam hair dyes?

I want to try it but I am a little leery about it. I have long hair and I always have to use 2 boxes and I never seem to get the slightly "gray" roots underneath my hair. I heard the foam is easier for all over color. I am tired of having to pay a salon $75.00 for color.

I hope someone gives you an answer, because I am curious about that too! I just bought the root touch up kit from Nice and Easy, but haven't used it yet. I typically have good luck with Garnier. I agree salon hair color is something I have cut back on. I also like not having to make an appointment- I can do it when it's convient and when it REALLY needs done.

I used the Nice N Easy one. I usually have a problem with hair dye fading out really quickly (not due to gray though, I'm only 22 lol). The color is still sticking around a month and a bit after I used it, just waiting a little while for the next application to avoid roots on my trip. Be aware though, the foam STAINS like crazy, so if you get any on your face or ears, etc. clean it up right away. Also, I usually use a bit of the leftover color to do my eyebrows, but with the foam it colored the skin behind my eyebrows more than the eyebrows themselves... Overall though I liked it enough to buy a couple more boxes to hold onto. Just won't try to do my eyebrows again lol!

DON'T DO IT!

Ok seriously, sorry for the caps, but don't do it!

A few weeks ago, I decided to try the foam color because it looked "easy". Um yeah...not so much. In addition to the fact that the color didn't come out even at all, the worst part was the intense itching. From about 2 minutes after we put the foam on, my scalp itched like I had a million mosquito bites. It was AWFUL. I found out later that a few friends had tried the foam color with the same poor results and itching...and one has a girlfriend who had the bottle of dye explode in her bathroom after shaking to mix the color.

This is one product that I can safely say NEVER AGAIN. I wouldn't risk it if I were you.

I used the Nice and Easy foam...the first time I've dyed my hair in over 10 years...it was easy...the color turned out great, its been about 4 weeks and it hasn't faded much at all...(I just went a little red onto brown hair) My hair is a couple inches past my shoulders and I had more than enough...at first I was concerned I wouldn't have enough, but it turned out fine.
I feel for the person whose expeccievnce was not good...but I had no issues
good luck with your choice

I just tried it this week so I don't know how lasting the color will be yet. I too did notice the itching and thought i was going to go crazy waiting to wash it out. A lot of color on the scalp too. I usually use L'oreal products..was using the creme stuff and then read so many people having better luck with the Superior one. I had trouble with the Superior one being so much thinner that I really made a mess in my bathroom with it, being used to the creme going on. Also, the color just doesn't seem like it lasts as long as it used to. This is why I tried the foam Nice and Easy....we'll see what happens. Not sure yet if I'd do it again.

I second the DON'T DO IT!

The money I saved using it was not worth the time it took cleaning up my stained skin and bathroom. My husband had to help wipe me down for 30 minutes because I was losing my mind getting the dye off. I also think I am going to have to repaint my bathroom door because a blob of the stuff landed on it and would not come off. It's mostly off, but if you know what you are looking for you can still see it. :sad2:

Used the Fat Foam one that they have at Walmart and except for the fact that the foam wasnt really foamy we didnt have any problems. Its lasted pretty long in my daughters hair. She has hair past her shoulders and there was just enough

I do have a box of the Nice n Easy one that I got a free coupon for and we havent tried it yet on her. Probably in the next few weeks but I will be careful to watch for some of the issues others have had

I used Loreal's Hair Color Mousse and I loved it. Target had it on sale for $8.99 and then a $2 off coupon and I had a Loreal hair dye coupon $5 off of 2 boxes so I bought 2 and used 2 $2 off coupons and the $5 off coupon so I got 2 for the price of 1! I have long hair so I thought that I should use 2 boxes. However, I probably didn't need to use both as there was plenty to go around. I just used both just to make sure I covered all of my hair. The color did come out darker than it was supposed to but I like it. I would definately use this product again and I recommend it.

I have Nice n' Easy foam sitting on my head right now! I liked how easy it was to apply. I didn't have any problems with drips or splatters. I always clean the sink when I'm done coloring anyway and it didn't seem any worse than with regular hair color. I always wipe around my hairline after I put color on and it didn't seem any worse than usual. I'm about to take a shower and wash it out. I'll know how well it covered the gray in a few minutes and will see how it lasts over the next few weeks.

i did not like it at all a few months ago i tried the samy brand that walmart carries it was a mess so as if i didn't already learn my lesson 2 days ago i tried the clariol foam it stained my face for 3 days it was not easy to get off my skin both brands died omy hair so bad it felt like straw did it cover yes was it easy no it was a mess

I have not tried it yet but plan too. Supposedly you can put vaseline all around your hairline to avoid staining, so maybe that will help.
