Has anyone tried the crockpot chicken breasts with salsa recipe I see posted

A lot of those individually frozen chicken breasts are not just chicken -- they have stuff injected in them. That could be why they stay moist.

I use the pre-frozen strips from Trader Joe's, I know I've read the bag before and there isn't anything disturbing that I could remember. LOL I haven't read it recently though, this is a good point. That said, I normally use those for oven baking, not in the crock pot. When I'm using the crock pot I'm using fresh chicken breasts that I've packaged and frozen myself. :)

This is a standard at my house.

We sometimes brown the chicken first which will 'seal' it a bit, but honestly I seem to have the best luck when I completly submerge the chicken and I let it have a long slow time (as opposed to using the high setting). I also cut up in third chunks per breast or I butterfly them.

I also blend my salsa so it is almost smooth and very liquid-y. Leaving it whole doesn't not seem to give it enough moisture. (I can't stand the texture of onions or peppers so I liquified it for my food issues but it works so well that my family wants it only that way.)

I make huge batches then freeze it small. My family always wants some for thier freezers and it is just completly shredable by the time you heat it up. It has been soft and moist everytime.

I only use chicken breasts and salsa, nothing else. Large crock pot (6-7 quart), 9-12 chicken breasts, one of those large quart sized salsas (store brand) mild, one reg jar medium. 4-6 hours on low.

I just made this for my family for the first time yesterday and it was a huge hit. Some ate it over rice and some put it in a tortilla. It will definitely go in our regular rotation of dinners. DW said it reminded her of a chicken chili.

I always make a double batch so we can have quesidias the next night. Then we have Taco soup with the other half. What other recipes are you using with the Salsa Chicken? I did make Burrito Bowls a few times but DH likes to go out for those at Hot Heads or Chipolte.
